A delicious lunch this week made by one of my homeschooling students!

Cooking gives us so many opportunities to develop our English skills through reading and writing instructions, weighing and measuring ingredients in Maths, developing our fine motor skills and working on our independent skills to be able to prepare a meal independently!

I have been tutoring since August 2025
I have been working in SEND education for 14 years!
I love travelling and have visited 44 countries
I am originally from South Wales, but Bristol has been home for the past 14 years
I set up Inclusion at Heart being inspired by a close family member. I want to be able to help more families like my own.

Another busy and rewarding week of tutoring! 📚✨
This week, our students have been working hard on a range of skills and activities, including:

➗ Fractions
🎲 Creating and designing their own board games
🔬 Investigating floating and sinking in Science 😂 Writing silly sentences to develop language and creativity
🃏 Building confidence with Solitaire Maths
🗣️ Using communication skills to request and identify colours
➗ Practising bus stop division
🔢 Using manipulatives to support addition and number understanding

It's been wonderful to see students developing their confidence, independence and problem-solving skills while having fun along the way. Every session is tailored to meet individual needs and celebrate each child's progress. 🌟

One of my most recent study skills sessions with a Masters student. We are working on developing ideas for a research proposal as part of their dissertation.

I am completely blown away and honestly still in shock. Supporting children and young people with SEND is something I am incredibly passionate about, so to be recognised in this way means so much to me.
