What a day! ❤️🎉

Today marked the first day of services in our new Headway Bristol home, and what an exciting milestone it’s been!

After an incredibly busy moving day yesterday, it was so lovely to finally open our doors and welcome people into the new centre. There’s still plenty to do over the coming weeks as we unpack, organise and put the finishing touches in place, but we’re officially up and running – and we couldn’t be happier.

A huge thank you to Smart Move Bristol, who did an incredible job emptying both of our centres yesterday and getting everything safely to our new home. You made what felt like an impossible task look easy!

A massive thank you as well to the four volunteers from Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, who gave up their afternoon to come and help us move. Your support was absolutely invaluable.

A special mention also goes to all of our amazing staff and volunteers who stayed late into the evening to unpack, organise, build furniture, move boxes and make sure everything was ready for today’s opening. Your hard work, dedication and teamwork have been incredible, and because of you we were able to welcome everyone into our new home today.

To everyone who gave up their time to help in any way – thank you. Every box carried, every shelf built, every cup of tea made and every helping hand has played a part in making this move such a success. ❤️

Today was the beginning of a brand new chapter for Headway Bristol, and we can’t wait to see what memories we’ll make in our new home. Here’s to the future! 💜🏡

🚨 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED THIS THURSDAY! 🚨

This Thursday is a huge day for us at Headway Bristol as we move into our brand new home in Kingswood! 🎉

Our removal team will be delivering everything to the new building, but we need as many helping hands as possible to get everything unpacked, organised and set up. We only have one day to get the centre ready, so every extra pair of hands will make a massive difference.

Whether you can spare an hour or stay for longer, we’d be incredibly grateful for your help. 💙

💙 Could you spare a few hours to make a real difference?

We’re looking for kind, enthusiastic volunteers to join us at our new Woodside Centre in Kingswood and support local people living with brain injury.

We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone available on Mondays and Fridays, but we welcome volunteers throughout the week, so please do get in touch whatever your availability.

You don’t need any previous experience – just a willingness to listen, learn and be part of something truly meaningful. Whether you enjoy chatting over a cup of tea, getting involved in arts and crafts, games, supporting group activities or simply helping people feel welcome, we’d love to hear from you.

We’ll provide all the training and ongoing support you need. In return, you’ll gain new skills, build confidence, make new friendships and, most importantly, make a genuine difference to the lives of people affected by brain injury.

🎉 The wait is over… welcome to our finished mural! 🎨💙

Last week we gave you a little sneak peek… and now we’re so excited to share the finished masterpiece that will welcome everyone into our new Woodside Centre. 🌈✨

This incredible mural celebrates our beautiful city of Bristol, with the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge and colourful hot air balloons creating a bright, hopeful and inspiring space for everyone who walks through our doors.

A huge thank you to our amazingly talented Headway heroes, Millie Holcombe and Natalie Holcombe, for giving their time, creativity and passion to create something so special. Your hard work has transformed our reception area into a place that already feels like home. 💜

As we prepare to open the doors to our new centre, it’s touches like this that remind us what Headway Bristol is all about – hope, community, resilience and new beginnings.

We can’t wait for our clients, carers, volunteers and supporters to see it in person! 💙

Today marks the start of Carers Week, a time to recognise and celebrate the millions of unpaid carers across the UK who provide support, love and care to family members and friends every single day.

At Headway Bristol, we see firsthand the incredible difference carers make to the lives of people affected by brain injury. Whether you’re a partner, parent, child, sibling, friend or neighbour, the role of a carer can be both rewarding and incredibly challenging.

Many carers take on responsibilities they never expected, often balancing work, family life and their own wellbeing while supporting someone they love. Too often, their dedication goes unseen.

This Carers Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every carer. Your patience, strength, resilience and compassion do not go unnoticed. You are an essential part of the recovery journey and the support you provide makes an enormous difference.
