Also running Inflatable Birthday Parties across Bristol, Chippenham and Swindon. First Steps Soccer Schools has been running for six years. The FSS syllabus has been developed by Mark and Joe Wenham over a 5 year period, and is the result of a continuous improvement programme spanning over 12,000 hours of personal contact time coaching 2-10 year olds. s, exercises and fun games are used to develop speed, agility and spatial awareness. All aspects of ball control are taught, from simple dribbling, passing and balances through to advanced turns, floor to air moves, and over 30 different techniques to beat players. From school age we introduce simple game play drills to our classes, which increase in complexity as our players enter the world of organised football. We use a large variety of small sided games to replicate match situations, whilst continuing to emphasise the importance of ball control. Our school age classes average 700 plus touches of the ball per player per session. Step One - 2 to 4 year olds

Step Two - 5 to 6 year olds

Step Three - 7 to 8 year olds

Step One. 2 to 4 year olds. The initial part of our programme emphasises the need for fun and enjoyment in a supportive coaching environment, and puts in place the technical foundations for future success. Mum/Dad/Carer work alongside their child, helping them to understand the drills and techniques we teach, whilst enabling them to develop their listening and social skills. Step Two. 5 to 6 year olds. Once they start school, our members spend increasing amounts of time each session working with the ball. We build on the basics taught in Step One, and start to introduce drills and exercises that will greatly improve the skill, technique and agility of our players. We also use small sided game play to educate our players, and prepare them for the step up to competitive football. However, we never forget their age, and the importance of remembering that football should be fun. Step Three. 7 to 8 year olds. Our finishing school. Ball work becomes increasingly complex, with fast foot drills, turns, and moves to beat players at the core of our work. Sessions are intense, fast moving, but fun, and typically involve each child enjoying 700+ touches of the ball in each class.

A great week for our FSS graduates in Swindon and Chippenham

Reuben made his first appearance for Cheltenham Town Academy

Freddie scored a hat trick and won man of the match in his debut for his new team

And Noah scored all 4 goals in a 4-3 comeback cup win (from 3 down!!) for his Junior Premier League side

Congratulations to all three boys , and a big thanks to the Mums and Dads for updating us on their progress

I loved working with these lads , and I’m genuinely delighted to see the impact they’re making in junior football

Freddie joined us two years ago , after his first experiences in junior club football hadn’t been much fun.

He’s worked hard and improved his skills in our friendly , supportive environment, and is now a skilful, confident footballer who I’m sure will be a great addition to his new team .
