Musical Moments

Musical Moments Piano and Theory tuition for beginner or accomplished, child or adult and everyone in between. GCSE and A Level support is also available.

Tracey Oughton has been involved in the teaching of music for 30 years, starting as Head of Music in an Essex comprehensive, moved to Bristol 27 years ago to teach in 4 different schools since then. With a wealth of both classroom and individual teaching experience she welcomes pupils of all ages and abilities, and teaches for all levels, from beginners to grade examinations and diplomas, including preparation for audition at Conservatoire/University. Tuition in piano, violin and theory is given on an individual basis in lessons of usually 30 minutes but could be up to an hour, dependent on the wishes of the student. Students can learn for pleasure, and are encouraged to take the Grade examinations for Trinity College London, in which pass rates have been consistently high with the majority of pupils gaining merit or distinction. Students may also follow the prescribed course for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music or Rock School examinations. Tuition Fees:
30 mins £16.00
45 mins, £24.00
60 mins, £32.00
Please contact me (mobile or email) for further details

Accompanist Fees* (per session):
Grade 1 - 5 £20
Grade 6 - 7 £32
Grade 8 £45
GCSE £32
A Level £40

*All accompanying fees are negotiable depending on the quantity of rehearsals required and the 'preparedness' of the student.

Scales Matter
Scales train fingers.
They build strength and control.
They make hard songs easier.
Do you practice your scales daily??

Did manage a lesson before the end of the year 👌🏼
Merry Christmas everyone 🎄🎅

Not the end to the term I was hoping for as nearly 2 weeks worth of lessons cancelled due to my having flu 🤧🤒😪 I've really missed hearing all that Christmas music and playing the duets, but hope my pupils have been enjoying playing at home.

And another exam passed - Grade 3 with a very high merit.

I love how digital exams allow you to enter when you're ready rather than battling with getting the timing just right. However, wish there was greater consistency with the marks for 'Performance Delivery and Focus' and 'Musical Awareness'. If there's no negative comment, why take marks off? Hmph!
