Inspired by our amazing students that recently undertook Ten Tors 2026, last week’s Whole School Assembly focused on the topic of endurance. Rebecca Davies (Deputy Head: Pupil Development) reflected on what it means take on a challenge and recognising the achievements in overcoming those hurdles, in ourselves and in others.
"Your brain grows most when it is challenged. Not when things are easy. Not when everything comes naturally. That’s why as a school we value challenge in a range of areas – in the hope you will all find an area where you thrive and grow. "

Rounding off our week celebrating the UN Global Day of Parents and Carers, our Senior School pupils were given the opportunity this morning to say “thank you” to someone who matters to them.
Through thoughtful notes and small gestures – from kind words to promises of helping hands at home – it’s been wonderful to see our pupils recognising and appreciating the many people who care for and support them each day.
We’re proud to celebrate all forms of parenting and caring, and to see kindness in action as our pupils take time to show their gratitude.

Our Juniors loved the opportunity to say thank you on the UN Global Day of Parents and Carers. We hope their messages brought a smile to the faces of those that received them!

Our Infant pupils wanted to say thank you to many different grown-ups who care for and encourage them every day, as they marked the United Nations Global Day of Parents and Carers. We know that every family is unique and that care comes in many forms. This week we’re celebrating all the parents, carers, grandparents, guardians, relatives and loved ones who help our children grow and thrive (and watch Scooby-Doo with them!).

Did you know that today is the United Nations Global Day of Parents and Carers? This recognises the important role played by all those involved in supporting and raising children and the next generation.
From the practical support (What’s for dinner? Can I have a lift? Where are my trainers?) to the listening ears and support and encouragement offered, this week our pupils will have the chance to send a message saying 'thank you’ to someone in their life whose care and support makes a big difference to them. A small ‘thank you’ can mean so much – and we hope those on the receiving end feel just how appreciated they are. Stay tuned!

As part of Love of Learning Week, some Year 7 students from the Nature Journalling Club went on a trip to Charmouth Beach and the Heritage Coast Centre, located along the spectacular Jurassic Coast in Dorset.
They had the opportunity to look for fossils and create drawings of their findings, which helped to enrich their understanding of the natural world by learning about ancient organisms and environments. The trip ended in Lyme Regis at the Mary Anning statue, which was very appropriate as it also happened to be her birthday!
