We’re excited to be part of the Access to Accommodation Fund, funded by St Martin in the Fields Charity.

This support will help us to expand our lodging scheme for refugees in Bristol and, in partnership with Naccom Network, help us create a Best Practise Guide for lodgings across the UK.

This funding will make a real difference, helping us turn our plans into practical solutions.

Such a valuable day at Bristol City Hall, learning more about the upcoming Renters’ Rights Act.

It was great to hear directly from experts and gain clarity on questions we face in our day-to-day work.

We left feeling more confident about what’s ahead and how we can better support our landlords and lodgers.

Thank you to .matters.bristol for bringing everyone together.

Spring reminds us:
everyone deserves a place to belong 🌸

As people come together to celebrate Nowruz and Eid, it’s a time of new beginnings, shared meals, and feeling at home with others.

For many, that sense of home is still something they’re rebuilding.

Wishing you a season filled with peace, warmth, and belonging.
May this time bring you and your loved ones joy, light, and true abundance.

Happy Nowruz & Eid Mubarak 🤍

Bristol is now the least affordable city for renters outside London.
Latest figures show the average private rent reached £1,893 a month in the year to January 2026. The average monthly salary is around £3,292 before tax — meaning roughly 57% of income goes on rent, the highest proportion outside London.

Housing in Bristol has become steadily less affordable over the past decade. For many people — especially those rebuilding their lives after displacement — the cost of rent makes stability harder to achieve.

We see every day how a safe, stable home supports people to work, study and begin again. If you have a spare room and would consider renting it out while helping someone rebuild their life, we would really love to hear from you.

Safe homes matter more than ever.

Protection shouldn’t be temporary. Here’s why this matters.

From yesterday, people granted refugee status in the UK are being given protection for 30 months, instead of the five years previously granted.

For many, this brings renewed uncertainty — just as they begin to settle, secure housing, find work, and begin rebuilding their lives after years of waiting for safety.

We see every day that rebuilding a life takes time. Stability is not a luxury — it is the foundation for integration, employment, and wellbeing.

When protection is short-term, it becomes harder for people to plan, to feel secure, and to fully move forward.

At Refugee Welcome Homes, we remain committed to creating safe, welcoming homes and supporting long-term stability for the people we work alongside.

A big thank you to our amazing landlords who joined us for our Tea & Cake Day ☕🍰

We had a lovely afternoon chatting together, sharing experiences, and answering questions. We also enjoyed a Q&A session with Hannah, one of our most experienced resident landlords, who generously shared her journey and insights.

Moments like these show how community and conversation can help create safe and welcoming homes. 💛
