Toybox Day Nursery Bristol LTD

We have been celebrating our Portuguese member of staff. She wore traditional dress and the children did lots of different activities including traditional dancing, singing and food. We had a Tapas style tea and the children helped make the salad

Over the past few weeks the children at Toybox have been learning to grow plants. They have been looking at the life cycle of a sunflower and know they have to keep watering the plants to help them grow.

We had Alpaca's visit the children at Toybox this week, they loved feeding Arty and Finley the carrots.

Some amazing outside play, children have been experimenting on how things move in sand. Lots of lovely playing on the swings and slides. Some role playing with tills and medical kits. Lots of different types of construction.

The children have been still getting out daily to enjoy the garden even though we have some very rainy days!

This week we had another amazing Playball session with Christian focusing on the children's co ordinations skills through throwing and catching games, kicking balls and practising stretching and moving. This is excellent opportunity to work on our communication and language skill through listening to instructions and carry them out.

Some lovely outdoor activities, planting and looking after our plants is a big responsibility at Toybox and they love to dig, so some great digging going on here. A wonderful example of how children see things from the natural world. A Tree, they filled it with sticks and leaves to look like a tree in the cardboard cut out, just a lovely activity. We do math's everyday at Toybox, some math activities are in what we do everyday and other activities are just maths.

We have had some very small visitors to Toybox and the children have loved the experience of touching them and seeing them. The mice kept trying to run off, the guinea pig was very hairy, the tortoise didn't move very quickly. The millipede had lots of legs!!
The chicks were very cute and the children loved them too.

Toddlers enjoying a sunny day at the pond, we are very lucky to have such a lovely experience so close to us here at Toybox, hopefully we will see the sunny warm days again soon.

We had a lovely time take part in the Flamingo Chick's Charity even, we also combined it with our intergenerational visit with Katherine's House too who also attended the event. We had fun learning flamenco style dancing with fans
