Here is Kate's testimonial in full:

I met and worked with you briefly when I came to your Discovery Day with my sister. The personal boundaries I learnt about were so helpful and made such good sense to a lot of things I’d experienced and have been really helpful since in understanding relationships. Another sister had previously worked with you and told me how much she enjoyed it. I was feeling very indecisive about where I’m living and life at the moment, ie keeping or trying to find homes for my horses etc.

At the workshop I learnt more about the subtle ways of working with people and especially horses and animals. I kind of knew this on a head level, just didn’t find it always so easy to put into practice…. Experiencing and having the personal boundaries lessons again was so good. I gained so much from the last day I felt… think I say this as I really FELT something and I was moved by the how the horses and people responded! I enjoyed it all, and some of the more spiritual stuff that possibly I can be skeptical about, was really good and still leaves me very curious. I feel like it’s left me feeling far more confident in my own intuition and open to the future whatever comes! Also, it’s really helped me to shut up! I think I was always quite good at listening, somehow that kind of changed and sometimes I get a bit too excited and then override others when they talk, it was great at making me aware of this. Plus, of course I feel you’re so good at facilitating and being part of the whole process.

I would highly recommend the workshop, anyone interested in horses, human behaviour, psychology, or just wanting something different, it was really peaceful and restful so I felt that in itself was great. Oh, and the food!

Recently I've been talking about the lessons I have learned along the way from the horses I have loved and a couple of months ago I wrote a blog with some of my favourite memories. However, one horse didn't appear in this blog and this is because back in 2023 I wrote a whole blog just about the lessons she taught me! It's been a while since I shared it so I thought it was time to revisit Amber!

“Healing is never as neat and tidy as we’d like it to be. It’s not a checklist. It’s not linear. It’s a combination of both progress and regress. And it’s a daily choice to keep showing up.”

Book recommendation:

Accessing the healing power of the Vagus Nerve: Self-help exercises for anxiety, depression, trauma and autism
by Stanley Rosenberg

Stanley Rosenberg explores the crucial role that the vagus nerve plays in determining our psychological and emotional states and explains that a myriad of common psychological and physical symptoms indicates a lack of proper functioning in the vagus nerve.

Through a series of self-help exercises, the book illustrates the simple ways we can regulate the vagus nerve in order to initiate deep relaxation, improve sleep and recover from injury or trauma.

This practical guide to understanding the cranial nerves as the key to our psychological and physical well-being builds on Stephen Porges’s Polyvagal Theory – one of the most important recent developments in human neurobiology.
