In Oak Room We Are Learning... (June 2026) - Little Hayes and Speedwell Nursery Schools 10/06/2026

This term the children in Oak Room are getting active. We will be building and attempting our own obstacle courses, and finding creative ways to move over, under, around and through the obstacles, using balance, agility and spatial awareness and we will be continuing to practise throwing and catching and there will probably be lots of football if the children are watching the FIFA World Cup!

In Wren Room the children are are getting active. We will be building and attempting our own obstacle courses, and finding creative ways to move over, under, around and through the obstacles, as well as using our shoulder girdle to promote upper body muscle formation by climbing, dangling, and swinging.

Important Dates – Speedwell Nursery School

Please remember that we are closed next Wednesday morning (10th June) for staff training. We will be open for the afternoon session from 12.30pm.

We are also closed all day on Wednesday 1st July for staff training.

The last day of term is Wednesday 22nd July.

We will be celebrating Speedwell’s 80th birthday on Wednesday 15th July with a family picnic for all our children and their families from 11am – 2pm. There will be no nursery sessions that day.

Please bring you own lunch and a blanket and come and join the celebrations!

We will be holding two stay and play sessions for the new children joining nursery in September, on Monday 6th July and Thursday 9th July from 2.45pm – 3.30pm. We have a few places available so please spread the word to your family, friends and neighbours. They can come along to the stay and play sessions, find out about the nursery on our website or call the office for more information.
