At our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend our Preschool children are excited about their new reading corner! 🌟
This lovely, cosy space gives children the opportunity to sit quietly with their friends, explore books together, or invite an adult to join them for a special story.
The children have also chosen some sensory toys to go underneath the reading area, giving them something calming to explore while enjoying this peaceful space.

A huge well done to Mariam and Louise from our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend; who have both recently completed their Level 3 Childcare qualifications, both achieving a Distinction! 🌟
Both Mariam and Louise started their journey with us at Mama Bear's as apprentices and have worked incredibly hard to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence.
We are so pleased that their hard work has led to them becoming valued members of our permanent practitioner team.

🍌🍪 Banana & Cinnamon Cookie Baking! 🍪🍌
This week at our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend the children had lots of fun baking delicious banana and cinnamon cookies!
Before we began, we talked about the importance of washing our hands and keeping them clean when preparing food.
Everyone took turns beautifully, working together and waiting patiently for their turn. We also explored numbers and counting, with the children identifying numbers and matching them to the correct number of spoonful's of each ingredient.
This activity combined maths, communication, independence, and social skills — all while creating something yummy to enjoy!

🌈 The Colour Monster – Exploring Our Emotions 🌈
This month in our Toddler Room at our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend we have been exploring and learning all about our emotions and how we are feeling.
The children enjoyed creating their own colourful drawings, using different colours to represent their feelings and emotions. 🎨 They also made their very own emotion jars, filling them with different coloured materials to help develop their understanding of emotions and build their confidence in sharing how they are feeling. 🌈

🚦Road Safety Week at our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend 🚦
We have been learning all about road safety and how to stay safe when we're out and about.
We were very lucky that South Gloucestershire Council kindly dropped off some fantastic road safety resources for us to borrow, which the children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring through play and learning.
To help continue these important conversations at home, every child has also received a copy of 'Off to the Pond' to share with their parents and carers. 🚸📚

At our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend the children have been learning all about the life cycle of butterflies.
They carefully looked after their caterpillars, watched them form cocoons, and were fascinated to see them emerge as beautiful butterflies. We then released them into the wild!
This exciting experience sparked lots of lovely conversations and curiosity as the children observed each stage of the transformation first-hand. 🌿✨🦋

At our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend the children have been busy transforming part of our outdoor area into a sensory garden 🌿
Using recycled tyres and liners, they worked together to create planters and carefully re-potted a variety of herbs.
The children have loved getting hands-on, exploring different smells, textures, and learning how to care for the plants.
It has been wonderful to observe their enthusiasm as they continue to nurture and develop their special garden space 💚

At our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend One of our practitioners was lucky enough to be invited to take part in a nutrition and gardening training session with South Gloucestershire Council. 🌱🍋

Today, the children enjoyed making their own flavoured water using fresh ingredients. They had lots of fun choosing what to add to their drinks and tried mint, lime, and lemon. The children loved exploring the different tastes — some thought it was a little sour, while others said it was delicious! 😋

This week at our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend our toddlers got creative making their very own fans! ☀️🖍️
It was a lovely activity that helped keep everyone cool while having lots of fun too. The children enjoyed decorating their fans and proudly showing off their creations! 😊
