At our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend we enjoyed a lovely barefoot walk in the garden with the children. We talked about grounding and how connecting our feet with the earth can help us feel calm. The children loved this sensory experience, stepping into puddles and exploring the feeling of grass, mud, and different textures under their feet. It sparked lots of curiosity and conversation as they shared what each surface felt like and explored the garden in a new way. 🌿👣💧

For Pancake Day the babies at our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend had a wonderful time celebrating with a fun, hands-on activity.
They enjoyed helping to make delicious banana pancakes, learning how to safely use children’s knives to cut up the bananas with support. The children explored different textures and smells as they mixed and prepared their ingredients. After cooking, the creativity continued as they used glue sticks, paints, and glitter to design their own artwork “toppings,” decorating pictures of pancakes with bright colours and sparkles.
It was a fantastic way to develop their fine motor skills, build confidence, and celebrate Pancake Day together. 🥞✨

At our Stanbridge Nursery in Downend one of our lovely parents brought in some doughnuts to celebrate tłusty czwartek - or Fat Thursday.
In Poland, Fat Thursday is called tłusty czwartek. People purchase their favorite pastries from their local bakeries. Traditional foods include pączki (doughnuts), which are large deep-fried pieces of yeast dough, traditionally filled with fruit jam or rose petal jam (though others are often used) and topped with powdered sugar, icing or glaze.
Thank you for sharing your traditions, celebrating with us, allowing us to share some delicious treats, and making the practitioners smile!
