Are you looking to add maths tuition to your skill set? Level up with Su's great course starting in the new year.

✨ One of my favourite projects this year has been such a joy to work on! ✨

I’ve been collaborating with Matt Wilkinson from Restart Tuition to help primary tutors (and tutors of other subjects) build confidence in tutoring GCSE Maths — both Foundation and Higher levels.

We’ve kept our sessions small and relaxed — more like friendly conversations than formal CPD — and it’s been amazing to see how much everyone has grown in confidence! 💪

We’ve had some fantastic feedback and are now taking bookings for our next course starting in January.

If you (or someone you know) might be interested, please share or get in touch — we’d love to chat and make sure it’s the right fit for you.

Part of why I left teaching was due to how incredibly hard the system can be on our young people and how I couldn't be part of that soul destroying pressure cooker.

It's a tricky topic and one that needs everyone to be aware. Most importantly teenagers need to be heard and supported through their transformative years.

One of the reasons I love tutoring is you can really help build up esteem and turn around a child's relationship with learning.

Scale of the Universe: Discover the vast ranges of our visible and invisible world. 02/04/2025

This week I've taught two of my students how to use standard form for very big and very small numbers.

This website is the perfect resource to demonstrate how standard form numbers look in the real world (and universe!)

Scale of the Universe: Discover the vast ranges of our visible and invisible world. Scale of Universe is an interactive experience to inspire people to learn about the vast ranges of the visible and invisible world.

Transformations and Symmetry – Mathigon 01/12/2024

https://mathigon.org/course/transformations/introduction

Mathigon is a recent website I've found with not only awesome tools and games but a really intriguing and accessible insight to various maths concepts.

Taken from the symmetry section:

"Many geometric concepts like lines or polygons were “invented” by mathematicians. Symmetry, on the other hand, is everywhere around us. Almost all plants, animals, and even we humans are symmetric."

Transformations and Symmetry – Mathigon Symmetry can be seen everywhere in nature – but it also underlies completely invisible laws of nature. Mathematics can explain why that is the case.
