S-Cool Revision is a free website dedicated to providing revision materials, teenager life style and issues, learning and career opportunities for students between the ages of 14 to 19 studying GCSE or A-level subjects. Regular Rewards
As previously suggested it is important to revise in short bursts as opposed to doing it over long periods of time. Try the 20 minute rule; revise for 20 minutes and then take 10 minutes off. Repeat this pattern during the day, and ensure that during your 10 minute breaks you do something fun and enjoyable. Your brain will pair your revision with your reward and help you to keep motivated.

There are several food-types that are linked with boosting memory and concentration. Whole grains, oily fish, seeds, berries and spinach, are some of the foods that will help. Consider keeping some of these healthy snacks to hand when you are revising. Nuts would work really well in this context.

Getting out into green-space is a great way to keep your mind and body fresh. Consider using green-spaces as a place to revise as well as a place to escape when you need a break. When you feel good, memory recall becomes much easier!

Clever Reminders
Create visual revision triggers and keep them in common places for example; on your fridge, in the living room, and in the car. This will help you to keep your mind actively rehearsing your revision notes. The more you practice and rehearse your revision material the easier it will be to recall in the exam.

Recreate the pressure that you will experience in the exam by completing past papers under a time-limit. Replicating test conditions will train your brain to work well in the exam. It will also help you develop an awareness about how much you can write in a given space of time.
