Happy Tuesday to you,
I had a fantastic start today, because I met Mrs. Katharine Caddick - THE FIRST 🥇 Nurse Consultant in Hepatology in Bristol. Wohhooo🎉🎉🎉. She started her post 5 yrs ago at NBT/ BFT NHS Foundation Trust in Bristol.
The Nurses' Expert group from Germany will meet Katharine and her ACP's / ANP's colleagues in October, this meeting will be mind-blowing for the German nurses.
I am so grateful, that Katharine took the time this morning to finalise our programme with her.
The Nurse Consultants, ca. 600 in the UK, are on the highest level of Advanced Nursing Practice.
Katharine, we cannot wait to see you all in October.
Big hug, Sabine 🙏😍🌻👍💯

Mastering Your NMC Revalidation Without the Last Minute Stress 🩺
Navigating the Nursing and Midwifery Council revalidation process can feel overwhelming, especially when deadlines start approaching fast. Every registered nurse in the United Kingdom must submit evidence of their practice hours, professional development, and reflective writing every three years to maintain their registration. Leaving portfolio building to the final few months creates unnecessary anxiety and adds extra pressure to your already busy shift schedule.
By establishing simple portfolio habits from day one, you can smoothly gather feedback, log your continuing professional development hours, and document clinical reflections as you work. Building your documentation bit by bit transforms regulatory compliance into a manageable routine. Head over to our website to read the full guide on keeping your revalidation stress free.

Have you watched any of our FREE educational videos? You could start here:
"How Do I Ask a Patient if They Have a Cold?"
https://youtu.be/S3Evmh8zRrs
In this video, Sabine tackles one of the most common patient admission questions that she hears when she teaches English to healthcare professionals: "How do I ask a patient if they have a cold?".
This is always a tricky topic for non-native English speakers because the word 'cold' is used both for the illness itself and when describing one of the symptoms!
Don't worry, Sabine will help make it all clear for you! 🙂

Happy Tuesday to you all! 😃
Here's a picture from yesterday evening's Stammtisch / Deutsch für Gesundeheitsberufe session, which was wonderful!
This time, I was joined by 3 brilliant international colleagues from India and Portugal who have started (or will start) their careers in Austria. Midwife Hind (from Algeria) and Nurse Candy (Philippines), not pictured, had to leave earlier. It was great to see them, too!
During the session, we discussed nursing reports, handovers, the pain scale, painkillers, and telephone service. It all centred around Frau Müller with symptoms of hypertension, tachycardia and migraines. We talked about how best to communicate with your patient and colleagues with a case like this.
It was great joy to meet these wonderful international nurses!
Our next session will be on 29.09.2026 at 18:00hrs - 19:30hrs CET. The flyer will be posted soon, so please stay tuned.
Passt scho 😊 und einen schönen Abend,
Eure Sabine 😊
