77th Bristol Scout Group

The scouts were out lighting fires by the church this week. 🔥

Harry and Tim were slightly concerned when the PCSO walked over to say hi! She’ll be running a session with us in the autumn 👮

A big congratulations to all our current and former Scouts and Young Leaders who took part in Ten Tors last weekend with Cabot Explorers! We always love to see our young people challenging themselves and going on big adventures. Three of our Young Leaders even managed the top 55 mile trek.

We look forward to seeing everyone having another crack at it next year - especially those who sadly missed out this time round.

I bought an Urban Nature map a while ago and have just given it to Tim. It’s really interesting to look at and will, I am sure, help us discover some great walks in the local area. It also features waterways , cycling trails and outdoor amenities. I’m not on a commission but highly recommend the map to anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and to fellow Scouters.

The scouts rounded off creative challenge term with a night of smores and homemade board game 🔥

Bowling next week with the Cubs and Beavers to finish 🎳 as well as two more Saturdays of Christmas tree sales! 🎄

For the last night of half term, the Scouts are off to watch the Bristol Pithulls smash MK Lightning at Planet Ice. Goal 2 was scored by number 77 💪🏻 🧊 ❄️ ⛄️

All sections out tonight at the Avon & Somerset Police stables near Clevedon. Ashton demonstrated crowd control on the Scouts and we tried to spook him with loud noises and banners, but he was having none of it. We fed the horses lots of carrots and unsuccessfully attempted to fit everyone into one horse box!

Our next big 77th Group trip will be camp in October - see you all there!

Lost property bottles! The red one came home from Strategy and the yellow one was at the group trip to Woodhouse. Let me know if they belong to you 🫙
