In memory of Ian 'Benny' Beningfield

Many of you will have crossed paths with Benny over the years

He came from a University fundraising background and was passionate about the difference that student's make in defeating meningitis. Whether he supported you through a challenge, cheered you on at an event, or just had a chat that stuck with you — he had a way of making people feel part of something bigger.

Following his family's request, we’ve created a Remembrance Fund in his memory to continue the work he cared so deeply about. Benny helped raise over £40 million for MRF, and we know he’d love to see this fund grow.

I don't know about you, but I can hardly believe we're less than one month away from our first trip of the year! Our Morocco students are fully geared up ready to take on the Atlas Mountains so I wanted to share some of my favourite pictures from when I took on this unbelievable challenge!

We sat down to try and rate the challenges you could take on this summer out of 10! But, it proved to be quite... challenging!

You can't blame us when they're all clearly 10's!

From volleyball tournaments, to 24 hour challenges and even psychic nights our students have been BUSY!

It's fantastic seeing all the hard work you've been putting in to raise money and some incredibly creative ideas!

I'm Tom, the newest addition to your Student Fundraising Team!

I have been involved in the world of charity challenges and adventures since I was 17! From half marathons to trekking through the Himalayas. Organising fundraising club nights and doing 24 hour active challenges. I was even a Challenge Leader myself with Choose a Challenge for three years! (Then I went to work for them for 18 months!)

I'm incredibly excited to bring my experience and expertise to all the students who are working with us, fundraising vital money to help defeat meningitis by 2030!
