Soapbox Challenge Success

Pupils in Year 7 and 8 have taken part in our annual Soapbox Challenge, an opportunity for them to choose a topic they truly care about, craft an engaging speech, and practise delivering their ideas with confidence.

Year 7 pupils presented their speeches to their classes, while Year 8 stepped up to the hall to speak in front of a larger audience. This year’s topics were wonderfully varied, and pupils worked hard to ensure their speeches presented a clear argument rather than simply informing their listeners.

There were some tremendous individual performances, and so many pupils pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones — a fantastic achievement in itself.

Congratulations to all pupils who took on the Soapbox Challenge. We are incredibly proud of your effort, courage and creativity!

Fighting to the Finish at Redland Green

Tough day out at Redland Green for our Senior Boys in the Bristol Cricket Competition semi‑final. Unfortunately, the boys came up short this time — just not our day with the bat.

But what a run it’s been. The team showed real fight, teamwork and spirit throughout the competition, and reaching the semi‑finals is something to be proud of. Plenty of lessons learned and plenty to build on.

We know that many former pupils and families hold fond memories of Mrs Lee and may wish to join in marking this very special occasion.

Silver DofE Success in Tough Conditions

Huge congratulations to our amazing Year 10 students who completed their Silver DofE expedition last week.

The weather was far from kind — rain, wind and plenty of mud — but their resilience and teamwork shone through from start to finish.

Why DofE Matters

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award isn’t just about walking long distances. It builds confidence, independence, problem‑solving, and real‑world resilience. Students learn how to work as a team, push through challenges, and discover strengths they didn’t know they had. These are skills that stay with them long after the expedition ends.

A massive thank‑you to the staff team who supported them every step of the way. Your time, energy and encouragement made this achievement possible.

Well done Year 10 — we’re incredibly proud of you all.
