Our Chanson Festival this week was a fantastic evening in the Rose Garden, with children from Reception to Year 8 stepping up to sing in French. More than 70 pupils volunteered to learn their songs over the summer break - from five-year-olds singing traditional comptines to our Year 8s taking on ambitious solos and supporting the younger ones on stage.

Seeing our pupils embrace the challenge with such confidence and big smiles is what makes this Tockington tradition so special. (And is a huge endorsement for our inspiring French provision!)
A huge well done to all our performers, and thank you to the parents who came along to cheer them on! 👏✨

The Chanson Festival is quickly becoming one of the highlights of our academic year - bringing pupils from Reception to Year 8 together for an evening that is entirely their own! 🇫🇷🎶

It’s a testament to our French provision that children as young as five step up to perform in a second language with such confidence. More than 70 pupils volunteered to take part this year, independently learning their songs over the summer break before taking to the stage in the Rose Garden.

From centuries-old traditional comptines to modern French hits, the real pleasure is seeing how the children grow into the occasion as they move through the school. Our senior pupils are very much part of that journey, encouraging the younger children, joining them on stage to sing alongside them, and then stepping forward for the more ambitious performances of their own.

It takes genuine courage to stand up and perform in front of an audience, let alone in French. Seeing so many of our pupils choose to take on that challenge with a smile on their faces is what makes this such a valued Tockington tradition.

A huge well done to all our performers, and thank you to the parents who joined us in the Rose Garden to cheer them on! 👏✨

Thank you to our whole TMS community for coming out in support of our very first fundraiser for this year's Charity of the Year, Muscular Dystrophy UK.

The Russell Run took a slightly different format this year and the weather was not with us on Friday afternoon 🙈 but spirits were high regardless! It was wonderful to see parents running our beautiful grounds with their children; older pupils encouraging the little ones; and staff donning their jogging gear to offer a helping hand across the route 😍

Thank you to Mr Perez for organising and a very well done to everyone for the many miles run and monies raised 🙌 We are looking forward to an excellent year of fundraising (and running!) ahead!

Our Reception children have had an excellent first week with lots of fun learning, adventures and new experiences!

On their first day at Tockington Manor School they enjoyed being the first pupils to use our new Forest School, including getting up close with Mr Thompson’s chickens, holding their warm eggs and picking tomatoes in the Kitchen Garden. They sat beautifully in our dining hall for their first lunch and we even celebrated a birthday! See all the highlight on Instagram 😀

Well done Reception on an excellent start to your journey at TMS! (and well done mums and dads for holding it all together 💕)

You’ve heard all about Tockington’s legendary Match Teas… but rumour has it our new Friday Coffee Mornings are about to take the cake! ☕️🧁

We know that children flourish when home and school work closely together. Strengthening that partnership is one of our top priorities this year and we want to make sure our doors are always open to you, our current parents.

Tomorrow marks the first of our Friday Coffee Mornings and TMS School & Nursery parents are welcome to join us from 8:30am – 9:30am in the Common Room.

These relaxed, informal gatherings are a wonderful chance to stop in after drop-off, chat with staff members and Mr Thompson, hear about what’s happening across the school, and connect with fellow parents.

To make Friday mornings even sweeter, our brilliant catering team will be putting on a special secret treat for everyone to try. Will it be warm artisan pastries, homemade flapjacks, or fresh scones? You’ll have to drop by to find out!

🍦🍨Don't forget, we also have the FOTM Ice Cream social from 3.20pm - 5.30pm!

📖📕And we are looking forward to seeing all parents from Reception - Year 8 at our Welcome Evening from 7pm.

A very big congratulations to our Monitors for the 2026-2027 academic year! 🌟

Our Year 8s will hold these positions with pride and competence as they lead the School in the year ahead. Well done to all of you - we can't wait to see how you blossom in your new roles. 👏😀

Welcome back, Tockington! 🏫✨

It’s been an exciting and eventful first day of term, and we can’t wait to share some of the highlights with you later this week: Reception’s first day; announcement of monitors; and the first visitors to our new Forest School!

We kicked off the year with a trifle more sugar in assembly than usual! 🧁 We wonder if your children have told you all about it? And whether Mr Thompson will get his just desserts as he officially steps into his role as our new Headmaster! 🤔🍰

We hope everyone had a good first day back - here’s to a ‘sweet’ year ahead at TMS! ⭐️

We are looking forward to welcoming all our new joiners to Tockington in September, but especially our Reception class! The first year in 'big school' can feel a bit daunting but there are plenty of adventures and fun learning experiences to look forward to!

Just before the end of term, our Reception children had their annual trip to Pizza Express to learn about healthy, balanced eating, experiment with dough and practice some useful cooking skills! It was a bonus treat to eat pizzas they made themselves in our Rose Garden!

And if you need a little reminder of all that lies ahead as you start your Tockington Manor School journey, take a look at our video here: https://www.tockingtonmanorschool.com/pre-prep/

We've got this! 🥰👍🤩
