Our Sustainable Fashion event on Saturday night was another sell out success. Kicking off with a fashion show highlighting lots of amazing pre-loved fashion. Then attendees were able to look through the rails of donated clothes to find some items to take home. Thank you to VWV Law who kindly sponsored the event and to everyone who attended, we raised an incredible £3,100 from the night.

This week we have enjoyed exploring clay, rolling it out and using different tools to make shapes. We have loved how the clay has felt sticky and slippy on our hands which reminded us of the book 'Going on a Bear Hunt' and the thick oozy mud.

We made Christingles here at Noah's Ark this week. We heard about the meaning behind the Christingle and that Christingles can be used to say thank you. We heard that the orange represents the world, the red ribbon represents the love of Jesus for us all. The 4 cocktail sticks represent the 4 seasons, the raisins are the fruits of the earth and the candle represents Jesus as the light of the world.

Its been an industrious week here at Noah's Ark as we have had a focus on construction. We have worked out how many bricks tall we are and then built a tower to see if we are right. We have been used different construction resources including kapla, interstar contruction and mobilo to make things. Its been a very busy week.

We have continued to explore different foods today. We have been trying some healthy options which would be great lunchbox ideas. Including wholemeal wraps with cream cheese and cress and also corn on cob. We have looked at broccoli and cauliflower, pulling them apart so that we have smaller florets and then cutting them up. We have been eating them and found that they are crunchy when they are not cooked.

Its a food exploration week here at Noah's Ark. Over the week we will be making and tasting various healthy food options.
Today we are trying Missi Roti ( an Indian flatbread) and are mashing chickpeas and avocado with paprika and lime. This makes a delicious and healthy dip which we are trying with oat cakes. We have also roasted chickpeas with olive oil and paprika to create a crunchy snack. Children can be unsure about tasting a new foods but with encouragement they have had a taste and many have been surprised that they have enjoyed what they are trying.

We have been busy making apple crumble this week. The children have enjoyed cutting up the cooking apples which are from Sophie's garden. They have sprinkled a bit of sugar and cinnamon on the apples. Then they have mixed some flour with butter using their fingers to get into a crumble topping. The crumble topping has been sprinkled on top of the apples. The children have taken their crumbles home to be cooked and enjoyed.
