For all parents suddenly having to become experts in ten different subjects at once, I am here to help. I'm sure it seems like a nightmare at times, but all the amazing maths education websites out there make it so much easier than in previous eras (see photo). Here are my top 5 sites for getting resources and advice on teaching mathematics from:

1) https://www.resourceaholic.com/
This incredible blog is maintained by one of the country's top teachers and is the font of all knowledge for how to be an awesome maths teacher. She has a resource library which covers all possible topics, and the blog is fully searchable, meaning that you can usually find a full page of advice on any subject you're struggling to teach.

2) https://www.tes.com/
Another treasure trove of resources. All you have to do is create a simple account and you'll have access to thousands of lessons and worksheets uploaded by teachers. If some of them seem familiar, it's because you child's teacher will almost certainly have used TES in their lessons previously! It's also the place to go for the latest news on COVID-19 and how it's affecting education

3) https://maths4everyone.com/
One of the best worksheet creators on TES also has their own website. Brilliant one-page worksheets for practising all types of key skills up to GCSE level - if you want to check your child's understanding on a certain topic then this is the place to go.

4) https://www.khanacademy.org/
If you're looking for a virtual classroom then this is the place to go. All aspects of maths covered using easy-to-follow YouTube clips, and the opportunity to test understanding at each section. If we end up learning in virtual schools in the future then Sal Khan will have a lot to do with it.

5) https://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/
I may be being over-optimistic here, but at some point in the future kids will have to go into school to sit exams once more. To prepare them for that moment get onto PMT - a one-stop library for all your past paper and exam prep needs.

Even visiting my in-laws in Spain the hard work doesn't stop. Just finished my last online lesson before Christmas! I wish all my past, present and future students a happy and relaxing Christmas.

The September rush is well and truly on now and places are filling up. If you too want to achieve the coveted "SALSA" grade (and especially if you are free on Tuesdays) then please get in touch!
