Coming up in May's newsletter from St Philip's Marsh Nursery School you can read about learning and play across all three rooms as we settle into Term 5, with new children joining the nursery and older children beginning to think about the transition to primary school in September.
In Elm and Beech Classes the two-year-olds have been enjoying Dear Zoo, singing and acting out Sleeping Bunnies, exploring diggers in sand, flour and cornflakes, making marks on the whiteboards and chalkboards, and getting creative in the mud kitchen.
In Oak Class the children have been spotting Spring wildflowers and mini beasts in the garden, making observational paintings, and planting vegetables in the raised beds alongside Claudia from The Children's Kitchen, with the first radishes already appearing.
Fir Class have welcomed new children this term, exploring the theme of new life and growth through Spring flowers, stories including The Enormous Turnip and Jack and the Beanstalk, and planting cress and seeds in the nursery garden whilst developing a growing curiosity about bugs.
You can also read about the weekly creative language sessions delivered by Rebecca from the Travelling Light Theatre Company, the Big Brush Club toothbrushing scheme and the positive feedback recently received, and important information about summer safety, school meals, session times, and parking. The newsletter also includes details of an upcoming school photographer visit, a new parent governor vacancy, and a farewell to a long-standing member of staff.

Term 4 at St Philip's Marsh Nursery School has been full of celebration! 🥚🌙 The children explored patterns through Easter egg decorating and collage, made chocolate nests, and hunted for eggs in the garden. Oak and Fir Class then came together for a brilliant Eid party with party food, Indian sweet treats from Easton, dancing, and lots of Eid Mubarak wishes, alongside learning about Islam through books and photographs. What a wonderful term!
