A catch up - advocation to my son and others who follow
So much money and anguish to battle for our young adults to correct levels of receiving formal provision. Through the process I’ve felt bullied, threatened, lied to, felt racism, scared and often shut down- unable to speak to share!
This has had a huge impact to my confidence- often trying to “break” a parent who simply - stand up for their young adult., who knows them best and lives there life to support/teach.
Decisions made by folk who simply do not know how to communicate or wish to rid responsibilities - seeing our young folk as a number and not a person
To have my son back to his adapted home - his day plan of education - feeling free - and trained staff to break down tasks to best responses and maintaining tasks he’s learnt to daily life skills - being part of his MAINSTREAM community where he learns best to copy and mimic others to best responses!
Being part of group activities to forming meaningful friendships with others who are more able and engaging to language, skills and communication.
Failed untrained individuals have forced my son elsewhere- NOT IN HIS BEST INTEREST at all
You can see all the activities he manages throughout the years and this level of continuity should he provided alongside more able young adults and to mainstream
My son has had clinical teachings, now generalising but needs to continue with trained staff to learning not having to do or finish tasks to him…
SARS - where is this? Application put into our local authority 2nd of June.
- Payment to invoices where both teaching and social care provision provided by a trained parent to exceptional circumstances. A policy is in place.
Looking to set up provision after education formally ends - but our young adults need to continue learning piecing together all they can manage to best responses throughout their lives- to becoming valued members of the community:)
