One of the highlights of this year's Summer Spectacular will be internationally renowned performer Rod Laver, who will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record he originally set in Beijing in 2013.

Known for his inventive juggling and decades-long career performing around the world, Rod will be bringing both skill and a healthy dose of determination to the stage for what promises to be a memorable moment.

Circomedia's End of Year Show takes inspiration from the lively world of 1930s variety entertainment, bringing together circus, theatre, music and larger-than-life characters in an evening that celebrates the joy of live performance.

Created and performed by our first-year degree students, the show blends aerial, acrobatics and physical theatre with the charm, humour and spectacle of a bygone era. Expect elegant performers, curious characters, unexpected encounters and a reminder of why people have always gathered together to watch stories unfold on stage.

What can happen in just one week? Mon 24 Aug – Fri 28 Aug, 10am – 4pm
Show in a Week gives young people aged 8–18 the chance to create, rehearse and perform an original circus show in just five days. Working alongside professional artists, participants will explore aerial, acrobatics, juggling, theatre and performance before bringing everything together for a final sharing at the end of the week.

It's a chance to build confidence, make friends, learn new skills and experience the excitement of being part of a live production from start to finish. Whether your child is already obsessed with circus or simply loves being creative, Show in a Week is an unforgettable way to spend the summer holidays.

Circus Summer Concert brings together the acclaimed Apollo Wind Band and talented young performers from Circomedia's Youth Circus and BTEC course for an evening where live music and circus meet.

Performed beneath the soaring arches of St Paul's Church, the concert features music from some of the world's most beloved films and musicals, brought to life by aerial performance, acrobatics and juggling. As the band fills the space with familiar scores, performers take to the air, balance, tumble and fly in a unique collaboration between musicians and circus artists.

Whether you come for the music, the circus, or simply the chance to experience something a little different, this is a celebration of local talent, creativity and live performance at its best.

Step into a world of glamour, mischief and live entertainment.
Inspired by the golden age of 1930s vaudeville, Circomedia's End of Year Show reimagines a bygone era through contemporary circus, bringing together aerial performance, acrobatics, physical theatre and larger-than-life charactes.

Created and performed by our first-year degree students, the show captures the energy, elegance and unpredictability that made vaudeville such a beloved form of entertainment, while giving it a distinctly modern twist.

Join us for a special fundraising cabaret The Circomedia Summer Spectacular on Saturday 27 June, 6:30pm. Celebrate the creativity, skill and spirit of our circus community, all while supporting the next generation of artists.

This year's line-up includes:

• Rod Laver, internationally renowned performer and compère, attempting to break the Guinness World Record he first set in Beijing in 2013

• Dynamic partner acrobatics from Welsh duo and Circomedia graduates Emba Wimbush and Ieuan Waller

• Ascension, an aerial hoop performance by Emba in Motion

• Aerial rope by Circomedia diploma student Paddy Riddle

• A large-scale club juggling piece choreographed by Gandini Juggling performer and Circomedia Head of Juggling Owen Reynolds

• A silent movie inspired slapstick performance conceived & directed by Moira Hunt and performed by Circomedia degree students for Slapstick Festival 2026

• Walkabout entertainment and performances from Circomedia's talented student community

Arrive from 6:30pm for pre-show entertainment, a drink from the bar, and the chance to soak up the atmosphere before the show begins at 7:30pm.
