This week has been a week of discovery on our travels. From 🦆, 🐜, 🐿️ 🐌 & some other 🐛 we need to work out what it is, but we’ve seen 2 other the last 2 days.
I am an Ofsted registered childminder, I offer a friendly and safe place for children to develop and learn through play.
I offer places for babies all the way through to Primary age.

This morning we took Olive for a walk. The children decided on our route. As we approached a gap in the houses they saw a bridge they wanted to go on.
We stopped on the bridge & saw lots of different vehicles 🚗, some kind people were waving as they approached us too (the children loved that). We then walked along the cycle path under the trees.
“Sarah it’s dark” 1 little one stated.
I started to follow the line with my feet pretending to balance & fall off. I asked if the children can walk & balance on the line too. 1 raised his arms to balance himself as he walked. The line is slightly raised so you do need to actually balance & concentrate.
We then spotted lots of birds & heard them too. We saw a stream running & splashing against a tree trunk so you could really hear the flow of water. I asked if it was moving fast or slow.
As we walked along into the industrial estate there were plenty of Lorrie’s to spot too.
We also saw a statue & discussed if it was happy or sad & how we could tell.
We also got to cross the main Rd and had to use the button, wait behind the bobbly bits & wait for the green man.
All of this on our door step & it’s just a walk right. This is learning in our environment, learning to be slow, take it all in, ask questions, be in wonder of what it around us & of course road safety is always the top priority.

As we reach the end of term & the final day before the Christmas break. I want to say a huge thank you to all the families & children past & present over the last year.
You’ve all been so supportive and thank you for choosing me to care for your most precious thing in the world, your children.
We’ve had a few changes this last year, children leaving for preschool and those that have started school.
2 new little ones joined us earlier in the year as well as our family addition of Olive the pup. The children absolutely adore her & she adores them too. So much so, when I walk her on the weekends she sits by the park waiting for children she can greet.
Hope you all have a great Christmas & see you all in the New Year of 2026!! Where we will be seeing some more children leave for school & some new babies join us too.
I will have availability from September 2026 Monday & Fridays at the moment.
Ps I think she loves her new Christmas 🎄 toy thank you GB Emily

Last week we introduced the children to our new member of the family Olive.
She does get excited when they arrive but being a puppy 🐶 she likes to sleep a lot too. This is her getting comfy on my lap while we read a story today. We were trying to keep busy because of the thunder ⛈️
Wow what a summer. We’ve said goodbye 👋 to a lovely child & their family, who has been with me since they were 9months old to pastures new of full time preschool for their last year before going to school.
We’ve said a partial goodbye to another child who will now be wrap around as they start school and it isn’t often I get to see children start school from the beginning as they either leave to go to preschool, start a different school or start at the setting once at school, so it’ll be nice to get to see them hopefully through to the end of school. (Only 1 current family I have had the pleasure of this so far)
We’ve gone on buses 🚌 and for some children the first time they’ve been on one, we’ve conquered different park equipment and climbed with the help of the older children as part of a team.
We’ve also started to settle a new little one ready for September.
First aid & paediatric first aid ⛑️ course done today.
Thank you so much https://www.facebook.com/share/19WGGQDg4F/?mibextid=wwXIfr for your time today. Very informative and would highly recommend for anyone looking to update their training.

In the warmer months, it’s great to open windows and balcony doors and let the fresh air in.
But children can and, too often, do fall out of windows or from balconies and suffer serious injuries. In fact, one child under ten is admitted to hospital every day after falling from a building.
So,
🪟Keep low furniture away from open windows so that children can’t climb up and fall out – even on the ground floor
🪟It’s a good idea to install window catches (to limit how far they can open) and locks if you can
🪟Keep young children away from balconies unless they are supervised and keep balcony doors locked when not in use.
🪟Be sure to keep keys somewhere you can find them in case there’s a fire and you need to get out
Please share to remind others to be safe this summer.
