🎉 Today is a very special day at Step Up!

Our student is only 11 years old and has just finished Year 6 this year.

And today he received his GCSE Mathematics result:

🏆 GRADE 9 — the highest possible grade!

We worked together on the GCSE Mathematics programme for around 18 months, and in May–June he sat the real GCSE exams alongside much older students.

Yes, he is an exceptionally bright young boy. But this result is not only about ability — it also reflects a huge amount of hard work, determination and a genuine desire to keep progressing.

I am incredibly proud of him. ❤️

For me, this is another reminder that a child’s age does not define the level they are capable of reaching.

If a child is ready to go further, our job is not to hold them back, but to give them the opportunity to do so.

In September a student came to Step Up having failed both his English language papers 1 and 2 in June. We had seven lessons. I have just received a text message from the student confirming he has now passed both exams. We are so proud of our track record at Step Up in both maths and English.

Today we remember.
On this Remembrance Day, we pause to honour and reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of all who have served in times of war and peace. Their bravery has shaped the freedoms and values we hold dear today.

As we wear our poppies with pride, let us take a moment of silence to remember those who gave their lives, those who returned forever changed, and the families who stood behind them with strength and love.

We will never forget their service, their sacrifice, and their legacy. 🌺

🌟 From Ukraine to the Top of GCSE Results: Dina’s Story of Success

📅 August 21st is a landmark day for Year 11 students across the UK — the day GCSE results are officially released. For many, it marks the culmination of years of study and the beginning of new opportunities.

🇺🇦 This year, one story particularly stands out — the journey of Dina, a student from Ukraine. Dina has been part of Step Up since 2020, studying online even before moving to the UK. When the war began, she and her family relocated, and Dina continued her studies in a British school from Year 10.

🏆 Just two years later, she has achieved the highest results in her GCSE exams — a truly remarkable accomplishment!
