✨ Happy New Year, everyone! ✨

We hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas break and are feeling refreshed and ready for the year ahead.

Just a quick reminder that there is no INSET day tomorrow (Monday 5th January 2026) , so we’re excited to welcome everyone back to school at 8:45am.

We can’t wait to see all our children’s smiling faces and hear about their holidays.

🌾 What a Wonderful Harvest Collective Worship! 🌾

This week we celebrated our Harvest Collective Worship, and what a joyful occasion it was! The children sang beautifully. Favourites included Magic Penny and We Are One, filling the hall with smiles and gratitude. 🎶

We listened to the lovely story of the mouse who found the sun and shared it with the other mice, reminding us all about kindness and generosity. ☀️🐭

Mother Dianne, from Horfield Parish Church, joined us to bless our harvest loaf, which the children later shared together, a wonderful symbol of community and thankfulness. 🍞🙏

We also said the Lord’s Prayer, followed by a beautiful prayer-song in Catalonian, celebrating the diversity and togetherness of our school family. 🌍

We were also delighted with the generous donations made to the North Bristol & South Glos Foodbank Thank you to everyone who contributed to support others in our wider community. 🥫

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this a special celebration of harvest, sharing and love. 🍂

🐾 The Greatest Dog Show on Earth is coming! 🐾

📅 When: Saturday 13 – Sunday 28 September 2025
📍 Where: Gromit Unleashed Pavilion, Cribbs Mall, Bristol

Get ready for a paw-some celebration of all 54 sculptures from this summer’s Gromit Unleashed 3 trail! 🐶✨

For two weeks only, you can see Gromit, Wallace, Feathers McGraw, Shaun the Sheep and Norbot all together under one roof, before they’re auctioned to raise money for Bristol Children’s Hospital.

🌟 Look out for our very own Norbot, “Forest Friend”! 🌳 Designed and painted by Mrs Steel and Year 1, it will be proudly displayed alongside almost 100 other amazing Norbots, created by local schools as part of the Gromit Unleashed 3 Schools Programme.

Whether you spotted them all on the trail or are seeing them for the first time, this is your last chance to catch the whole collection in one place. Perfect for a family day out!

The AGM is on 6th October, at the Beehive. We’d encourage as many people as possible to attend. There are a few committee vacancies that need to be filled to keep these fantastic events running for our school community.

We are really excited to be working with Bookhaus who have been incredible at helping us to select £5k of wonderful new books to support our new Plymouth Science and LSP 's History & Geography curriculum. The books were carefully chosen to help make our learning even more meaningful and memorable and are going into classes next week to inspire our children. Massive thanks to Tesco for their funding and to . What a wonderful way to start the term!

We are looking forwarding to welcoming our families back this morning after the summer break. Gates open at 8:40am and school starts at 8:45am.

Please bring a coat as the forecast is for showers and we will be having playtime outside!

🎓✨ What a year it's been at Horfield CEVC Primary School! ✨🎓

As we wrap up another incredible academic year, we want to take a moment to celebrate all that our children have achieved. Our Year 6 Leavers' Assembly was a truly special occasion, full of laughter, a few tears, and so much pride. We’re sending our brilliant Year 6s off with confidence, knowing they are ready for their next adventure. 🌟

From classroom triumphs to sporting successes, creative moments, and countless smiles along the way, this year has been one to remember. A huge thank you to our wonderful staff for their dedication, and to our pupils for their energy, kindness and curiosity.

Wishing all our families a restful, joyful summer break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another exciting chapter! 🌈📚
