As we celebrate British Play Therapy Week, we honour DR Garry L. Landreth and his profound reminder that “What is most important about children can only be learned from children.”
Dr. Landreth’s words invite us to move beyond assumptions and truly listen to children, to their voices, their play, their feelings and their unique ways of experiencing the world. In play therapy, we meet children where they are, honouring their perspectives and trusting their capacity to communicate, heal and grow.
His enduring legacy continues to inspire play therapists to approach every child with curiosity, respect and a commitment to understanding the world through the child’s eyes.
