Our (psychological) ‘demons’ only exist in the darkness. When we turn towards the light of our own awareness we come into right relationship to those unconscious fears & phobias. The walls of our victimisation are made of thought & the key to our liberation is the quality and nature of our attention (& our perspective). In meditation we ‘alchemise’ these moments of darkness by recognising and ‘seeing’ The Light that is always and already here. It just needs to be ‘pointed out’ 🙏
I’ll be here again to do my practices this Tuesday May 19th if you’d like to join. Mindfulness with yoga 8.00-9.00, Meditation 9.00-9.20pm. Everyone is welcome 🙏

Losing self and finding Self 🙏
Awakening isn't a destination, it's a continuous act of remembering who we've always been. We start to see that nothing new is gained but what is false, falls away. And in that 'stillness' or 'emptiness' what remains is not the egoic ambitions of the seeker but The Source itself, watching through our eyes.

The Yoga of Wonder 🙏
Elaborate rituals and garish images
May be useful in meditation when your mind is whirling
with thoughts about money, s*x and power.
Go ahead and use these tools, yet know
Beating drums and blaring trumpets cannot summon
One who is already present.
I am not a collection of incantations
Known only to experts.
I am not a ladder to be climbed.
A sequence for opening energy centres in the body.
I am not to be found at the end of a long road.
I AM right here 🙏
(From the ancient Hindu text 'The Vijnana Bhairava Ta**ra'
Called The Radiance Sutras, translated by Lorin Roche)

"Modern people find it hard to experience 'God' because they don't go low enough" Carl Jung 🙏
Here Carl Jung is suggesting that the spiritual path isn't like going back to the innocence of 'childhood' in some way - quite the opposite, it's about going deeper into human life with all it's inherent challenges, limitations and pain. We cannot skip over 'Darkness' to reach 'The Light'...
In his many novels about the spiritual path, German mystic Herman Hesse explores this same theme eg in 'Siddhartha' our hero meets the Gautama Buddha and attains a degree of enlightenment quite early on, the other chapters of the novel explore what that means in his life. Towards the end, after a long but but interesting journey, he becomes a 'ferryman' taking people across the river and sharing his mystical presence with them. By now, he's old and lives in mystical union with all things, only to have his heart broken at the very end of the story, when his long lost son shows up and rejects him (as he rejected his own father).
Siddhartha’s full spiritual enlightenment comes at a cost: becoming fully human... 🙏

Stillness 🙏
The reason that we need support when we meditate is that stillness doesn’t happen by calming the mind nor can it be ‘manufactured’ or forced, it can only be noticed. Beneath that whirlwind of thought in your head and the tsunami of emotion in your heart, is ‘stillness’. Even in a body that is stoked with heightened sensation and a sense of unease, we can still learn to recognise ‘stillness’ beneath the motion and movement of the gut, belly and head.
Support (rather than ‘guidance’) facilitates the process of noticing, recognising and acknowledging this inherent witnessing consciousness.
Our formless, soundless and object-less Buddha-nature is the holding space for all life and thought. With support, anyone can learn to feel the presence of Everything beneath the white noise of our minds and the brash noises of the world. 🙏
