Apparently these are the only pictures it took of forest school last week! We still have the goats on site at one of our afterschool clubs and one of them is very impressively balancing on top of all our kit just when we were trying to set up! They’ve been fantastic to have around, there’s been a lot of hilarity and it’s been noticeable how few conflicts there are between the children and even less toilet runs!

What is there to even do at Forest School… well the most important thing is that your child/ren explore what they’re interested in at their own pace. We want to feed their natural desire to learn and create. At the hideaway we just try to create the right environment for that to happen and if they want to, these are some of the things they can get involved in.. there’s also story time, cooking, songs… come get involved Wednesday and Friday mornings, 10-11:30. You can now book individual sessions.

We have been very lucky at one of our afterschool clubs to have had goats introduced to the site. The children and goats seemed very happy to be in each others company with children quickly making a goat feeding device and a whole platter for them to graze on!

Have been meaning to install the new swing for too long… now proudly in place and check out the view when looking up from the swing… dreamy… have just ordered a new parachute to arrive this week too. This week at the preschool session we’ll be celebrating Beltane and May Day with a May pole, making musical instruments and making a green person mask!

Oh the bluebells…. And the dandelions, petunias, forget me nots, wild garlic flowers, cow parsley, daises, celandine… it’s an incredible time for flowers so help us celebrate them next week with flower crowns, making flower print bags, planting sunflower seeds and making dandelion fritters (dandelions fried in a pancake batter!).
