Visitors have been snapping up tickets fast to see the Bayeux Tapestry, which will be on show at the British Museum in London from September. This 68m-long embroidered cloth, which depicts the Norman invasion of England in 1066, left its home in France for the first time since it was created over 900 years ago. As Honor Powrie explains, this fragile, historic artwork was only able to make the journey thanks to conservators whoβve digitised it using non-invasive, physics-based techniques.
