Fairy invasion! Painted by our Begbrook kids ✨

Gone mad with artificial grass recently! We made a board for our new giant chess pieces that have landed in Y6, and had fun spraying the squares but the already need a much more robust paint as the kids have loved the colour off within 48hrs, love it!
Also added grass to our buddy bench and Y5 dome for a cosy effect ✨

100 strawberry plants on the playground and the kids watering cans have just arrived in time for next weeks heatwave!
Also installed a couple of sensory bench planters with lovely herbs and sunflowers 🌻 ( which are also starting to grow strong in the big planter by the greenhouse- have you seen the growing seedlings??)

We’ve bought a new sensory tunnel for reception recently and they love the colours inside from the Perspex windows ❤️✨ also decorated our bespoke pipe domes to create some dappled shade 🌞

We’ve painted lots of little fairy doors this weekend to start decorating our school trees soon! ✨ 🎨

We’ve been working over the last 3 months to figure out the best play investment solutions for the 450 kids at Begbrook, to get as many kids as possible engaging in creative play, while spending the lowest amount of precious (hard fundraised) cash!
Learning about compliance/ health&safety and how it restricts options and drives up prices, has been a complex journey…

This is a solution that one of our committee dreamed up- (having never actually made it before) the first pipe dome was installed over Easter, in the year 6 zone- previously a dirt patch- and it turned out really well. We hope that this is a good start to transforming some of the playtimes at Begbrook!
Second dome coming soon! We’ve also installed some blackboards to get the kids chalking too. Keep an eye out for more upgrades…

The colour run was SO fun! Here’s some pics sent by some of our Begbrook parents!
We’ve made a video of the colour run to show the kids in class- (this is unlikely to be for social media) we hope they’ll love it! We had 313 runners booked in in the end!! Such a big event to try and manage- we definitely did our best and learned a lot!

We’re currently counting up how much we raised towards playground equipment, so if you have any outstanding sponsor money to collect, please get it to the school office asap or pay it to PTFA (account details in recent email)

We’ve already started buying some upgrades for the playground using the funds we’ve raised in the last year, and look forward to the investments coming together!
