Last Monday, the children were very lucky to enjoy some robot workshops at school. Alex, Hannah and Ewan, PhD students from Bristol University Physics Department, brought along their robot dog, a RoboMaster and some robotic cats from Hot Robotics for the event. Needless to say, the children really loved the robodog, and also had lots of fun controlling the other robots. It was great to see (and hear π) them being so excited!πAlthough, I think the adults enjoyed it lots too! It was also lovely that our Chair of Govs, Steve Wells, was also able to join the fun! πΉπ±π€π¦Ύπ¦Ώπ

On Thursday 11th Starlings class enjoyed an amazing Rainforest Roadshow experience. The day was packed with learning about the tribes people, animals and insects of the rainforest.
Dave, our visiting expert, showed and taught us so much! We held creatures, had our arms painted in spirit animal tribal patterns and handled rainforest artefacts β a truly memorable day.
Many thanks to FOM for their support in helping to provide this for the children! π

Todayβs last gardening club was an exciting one! π€©πͺ΄ The children harvested the fruits of everyoneβs labour! So many onions and potatoes, as well as radishes and peas, fresh from the pod, which the children got to try! π«π π§

A couple of weeks ago, KS2 enjoyed a visit from WonderDome Planetarium. Each class had an interactive 3D experience where we learned more about our solar system, stars and the universe. Helen, the amazing presenter, took us on a journey through time and space, explaining how the planets orbit the Sun and telling us what scientists think exists beyond our own galaxy. This amazing opportunity sparked many interesting questions from pupils, and we would very much like to say 'Thank you' to FOM for their support in funding this experience β it really was out of this world! ππͺ

Y6 were treated to a very special afternoon on Monday, when Verity from Aardman animations visited us for a workshop. She brought along many of the famous puppets and models that we are all familiar with, from lots of their films and tv programmes. She also shared her experience as a puppet maker. During the session, the children were also set a challenge to make their own models, which were then taken away to be baked. We had a fantastic afternoon and couldn't quite believe the actual Shaun the Sheep was in our room! ππ
