Using practical, playful activities is a brilliant way to build early maths confidence and problem-solving skills. 🧠✨

Our little learners have turned into the finest medical team in town! 🩺
The children have been busy practicing their doctor and nurse skills on each other (and our wonderful team!)
From carefully wrapping bandages and checking heartbeats with stethoscopes to administering medicine with toy syringes - they’ve been fully immersed in their imaginative play.
Activities like this are fantastic for developing empathy, communication skills, and fine motor coordination, all while helping children feel more comfortable and familiar with real-life checkups! 🧸

Learning all about hedgehogs at Ambourne House! 🍂🦔
Our little ones have been getting creative while learning about wildlife! We've been finding out all about hedgehogs, their sharp quills, and how they live in nature.
To bring the lesson to life, the children used their fine motor skills to craft their very own hedgehogs using cardboard tubes and pipe cleaners. It’s been a fantastic, hands-on way to develop coordination while exploring the wonderful world around us!

Montessori maths in action at Ambourne House! 🪵🔢
We’ve been busy working with the spindle box! This classic Montessori activity is fantastic for helping children connect written numbers with physical quantities, as they count out the correct number of wooden spindles for each slot. It’s a wonderful, hands-on way to master early counting! 🧠✨

🐝🌼 Busy as bees in the Baby Room! 🌼🐝
We had so much fun exploring our bee-themed sensory tray! The little ones loved scooping and pouring to discover different textures, patterns, and shapes. ✨

Our preschoolers have been having a wonderful time getting hands-on with early math concepts using our Montessori number rods.

By lining up the red and blue rods alongside the matching number cards, the children build a strong visual and physical understanding of quantities, sequencing, and length.

It’s a fantastic, interactive way to bring numbers to life and make early learning feel like a fun puzzle to solve! 🧠✨

Fluttering into Butterfly Awareness Week! ✨🦋
Our little ones have been celebrating our beautiful winged friends with some fantastic matching activities - using colour tablets to carefully match up the vibrant shades found on different butterfly species!
It’s a wonderful, hands-on way to explore nature, practice colour recognition, and learn all about the environment around us! 🌸🎨

🛠️🪵 Future engineers at work in our STEM centre! 🪵🛠️

Our preschoolers have been putting their safety goggles on and getting stuck into some brilliant, hands-on building work!

They've been practicing using real tools to hammer nails into wooden logs, which is fantastic for developing hand-eye coordination, wrist strength, and deep concentration! 🧠💪

We are so proud of how carefully and confidently our little builders work. Great job! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️✨

We have been getting super creative with our painting! 🎨
Our little ones have been using bright yellow dabbers and looking at pictures of bumblebees to inspire their very own masterpieces.
It’s a wonderful way to explore bright colours, practice holding creative tools, and develop those important fine motor skills while having heaps of fun! 💛✨
