We recently had a visit form author J.L. Simmonds to give an interactive workshop on planning a novel. She shared some of her experience and process in planning and writing her novels. Using only post-it notes and pencils, students were shown how to plan around stories using their interests and to plot a characters journey from beginning to end while including lots of fun dramatic twists and turns to excite their readers! Each young writer had lots of fun sharing their ideas and getting personal input and encouraging feedback from the author.

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!
This week was the last full week that our Year 11 students were in school, and they celebrated with the age-old tradition of shirt signing. We were amazed by some of the beautiful and creative designs and we wanted to share a few. We wish all our Year 11's all the best for their future and look forward to finding out what they all get up to next!

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!
Last week we received a letter from explaining how in November last year they met one of our students in Year 7, Nathan, at the Ardagh Food & Craft market. Nathan asked what they did and then offered to donate the profits from his stall to Family Food Action. Nathan explained that his goal was to donate £1,000 to a number of charities, which he absolutely smashed! Not only did Nathan donate his profits from that stall, but from his December and May stalls also.

FFA said "We felt we had to make you aware of Nathan's kindness and generosity; he is is already making a positive difference to his community and is a credit to his family and his school".

We are incredibly proud of Nathan!
