Last night, we were delighted to welcome back a room full of Old Elizabethans at the Aqua Shard, London, for an inspiring evening kindly hosted by one of our generous 1590 Society supporters.

It was wonderful to see so many OEs who share our ambition of widening access to QEH, coming together to learn more about how they can support the school’s mission to ensure talented young people can benefit from a QEH education, regardless of their financial circumstances.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to champion our vision. Together, we are helping make opportunity more accessible for future generations ✨

Following Daz Ahmed’s (Class of 2019) recent visit back to School, it was fantastic to see him in action for Gloucestershire in the West Country Derby against Somerset 🏏

Ahead of the match, we welcomed 40 guests to a pre-game dinner, bringing together OEs, including some who played alongside Daz during their time at School, as well as current pupils, parents, and former staff.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such an enjoyable evening. The occasion was made even more memorable by an exciting Gloucestershire victory!

An Honourable Visit 👨‍⚖️

Last week, QEH had the honour of hosting Hons Mr Justice Pepperall, High Court Judge and Old Elizabethan, for a careers talk on entering the Law 💼

An Old Boy of QEH (1978–1985), Mr Justice Pepperall has remained an active and valued member of our community, recently returning for his class’s 40-year reunion at the Bristol Dinner 🍽️

It was a pleasure to welcome him back once again, this time to share insights from his distinguished judicial career 🤝

Last month, the Judge generously provided 20 of our Sixth Form students with an exceptional marshalling opportunity too, inviting them to spend a day with him at Bristol Crown Court while he presided over a major murder trial.

Students sat two at a time beside him in court and were able to discuss the case and courtroom procedures directly with him 🗣️

Through QEH, this experience was also extended to Bristol state schools via the Bristol Education Partnership, widening access to this rare and invaluable insight into legal careers.

Our sincere thanks to Hons Mr Justice Pepperall for his continued support and for offering these remarkable opportunities to our students 🌟
