We are delighted to support Year 9 pupil Luna Stevens as she embarks on her latest fundraising challenge in aid of the North West Bristol Foodbank.

On Sunday 25th October, Luna will attempt a marathon with a unique twist, running one mile every hour, on the hour, for 26 hours, all while wearing her Spiderman onesie.

It was a strong start for the U13 Pembroke Rugby team this season.

In their first fixtures together, the combined squad of Clifton High and The Downs pupils delivered an impressive display of teamwork, adaptability and determination, despite having trained together on only two occasions beforehand.

Playing in challenging conditions, the boys demonstrated excellent cohesion and commitment to secure two convincing victories:

Pembroke 35-0 KES B
Pembroke 30-0 Clifton College B

The performances reflected not only the players' individual talent but also their ability to collaborate effectively as a team from the outset. We look forward to seeing the squad continue to develop and build on this promising start throughout the season.

Congratulations to Ben, Samai and Max on their selection for the Avon County Hockey U14s programme!

It is fantastic to see three of our Year 9 pupils recognised for their talent, dedication and hard work, earning the opportunity to continue their hockey journey at county level.

As part of the Avon County programme, the boys will benefit from specialist coaching, dedicated training sessions and competitive fixtures, helping them to further develop their skills and experience.

We are incredibly proud of Ben, Samai and Max and look forward to following their progress throughout the season.

We are delighted to share that Florence and Esme have been selected for the England U16 Girls Player Development Group (PDG) Programme for the 2026-2027 season.

Following a highly competitive assessment process, both pupils were recognised for their performance, attitude, commitment and potential. Their selection reflects the hard work and dedication they have shown both on and off the pitch.

Congratulations to Florence (Fly Half) and Esme (Number 8/Second Row) on this fantastic achievement. We look forward to following their journey within the England Rugby pathway.

Last week, Year 6 enjoyed a fully immersive day at Sevington Victorian School, experiencing life as Victorian pupils. From practising arithmetic on slates and perfecting their handwriting in copybooks to making lavender bags and wax candles, the day was packed with hands-on learning.

After some traditional playground fun, pupils discovered the dreaded Victorian ‘articles of correction’ and learned just how different school life was over 100 years ago!

Our Sixth Form Centre became a showcase of academic research at this year’s EPQ Fair, where students presented their Extended Project Qualification projects to staff and parents.

The breadth of subjects on display was remarkable, from medical treatments and engineering innovations to political movements, social issues, history and literature. Students confidently discussed their research, findings and conclusions, demonstrating the independent thinking, analytical skills and intellectual curiosity that the EPQ develops.

Congratulations to all our students on the outstanding standard of work presented. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

Our Year 12 students headed to Birmingham for an action-packed bonding trip, combining team challenges, academic enrichment workshops, inspiring lectures, career-focused experiences and plenty of opportunities to make new friends.
