Our diverse community is one of the things we cherish most about our school, and we love that throughout the year we get to celebrate so many different occasions, festivals and traditions alongside our families. Eid al-Adha is a wonderful example of that, a time of prayer, reflection, generosity and togetherness that means so much to many of our families.

To everyone celebrating, we hope this special time brings you joy, peace and precious moments with those you love. 💛

Celebrating St George's Day at Hartcliffe Nursery School! - Hartcliffe Nursery School And Children’s Centre 01/05/2026

Here at Hartcliffe Nursery School, we love finding reasons to come together as a community - and this year we have quite a few to celebrate all at once!

On 6th May, we are hosting a family picnic to mark May Day, Easter, Eid and St George's Day, together. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all - more details to follow!

St George's Day falls on 23rd April, and the story behind England's patron saint is a fascinating one. Did you know that St George was actually born in what is now Turkey, to a mother from Palestine? He never even visited England - and yet his story of courage and standing up for what is right has inspired people all over the world for over 1,700 years. He is celebrated as a patron saint in Portugal, Ethiopia, Catalonia, Palestine and many other places, and is honoured by both Christian and Muslim communities across the Middle East to this day. Visit our website to learn more.

We think St George's truly international story is a perfect fit for our wonderful community here at Hartcliffe, where so many different backgrounds and cultures come together every day.

We hope to see you on 6 May!
