Safeguarding and wellbeing sit at the heart of everything great schools do. 💜

That’s why we’re so pleased to have CPOMS Safeguarding, Pastoral, Wellbeing Solution supporting our Transformative Approaches to Safeguarding & Wellbeing Conference this October, as we celebrate 15 years of impact.

CPOMS works alongside schools every day to support safeguarding practice, so having them behind a day focused on practical learning, fresh thinking and better outcomes for children and young people feels like the perfect fit.

How do we better support boys and young men to explore what masculinity means to them?

We're delighted to announce that Lewis Wedlock will be joining us at ourTransformative Approaches to Safeguarding & Wellbeing Conference.

A Bristol-based masculinities educator, Lewis has spent the last five years working with thousands of young men and teachers across the UK, designing and delivering projects that explore ideas around masculinity.

His debut book, Masculinities in Schools, was published by Sage in 2025, and he also hosts the Masculinities with Lewis Wedlock podcast, where he explores and unpacks current thinking around masculinity.

Lewis will bring this work into the conference as part of a day designed to challenge thinking, start important conversations and give education professionals practical ideas they can take back into their settings.

💫 What if creativity could become part of your safeguarding toolkit?

Safeguarding rightly involves policies, processes and procedures. But when it comes to opening up difficult conversations with children and young people, sometimes a different approach is needed.

At our Transformative Approaches to Safeguarding & Wellbeing Conference, Beyond Risk and Rule: Creativity as a Safeguarding Tool will explore how creative play, storytelling and artistic expression can create lower-pressure ways to navigate sensitive subjects.

The workshop will look at how creativity can help to:
✨ Lower defences and make difficult conversations feel safer
✨ Build emotional literacy and resilience
✨ Support earlier intervention and disclosure
✨ Give young people greater agency in their own safety
✨ Bring practical, child-centred approaches into everyday pastoral work

And importantly, this isn't about becoming an artist or finding extra budget. It's about exploring techniques that can be used with the resources already available in schools.

You'll get the chance to experience some of the activities first-hand and consider how they could work within your own setting.

We just wanted to take a little moment for World Gratitude Day. 💜

We’re always so grateful for the young people we get to work with, and feedback like this is a lovely reminder of why.

Some of the young people who joined us at one of our Creative Holiday Clubs said their standout moments were “playing with friends”, “making bugs” and “playing basketball” - which just shows how many different things they get to enjoy during one of our holiday club days.

And with young people using word such as "Amazing" when describing their day, this obviously means the world to us!

Happy World Gratitude Day to all the brilliant young people, families, schools, partners and supporters who are part of our journey. 🙏

🌻 FREE online CPD: Supporting emotional regulation through creativity

How can creativity help children and young people better understand and manage their emotions?

Join us on Tuesday 13th October, 3.30pm - 4.30pm for a free online CPD session introducing the Unique Voice Mental Health Toolkit.

Led by Esther Lambert and Talulah Pollenne, the session will share practical ways to use creativity to support emotional regulation, mental health and wellbeing.
