Imagine making a film for your studies - and then seeing it selected for an Aardman exhibition AND the Encounters Film Festival.

That’s exactly what a group of our film degree students at Boomsatsuma have achieved with A Grand Night Out.

Created as part of our collaboration with Aardman to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the film was shown in Aardman’s anniversary exhibition at M Shed and has also been named an Official Selection at Encounters Film Festival. 🙌

Our students don’t just learn about filmmaking. They become directors, cinematographers, editors, production designers, sound recordists and production managers - working together on real creative projects and building the skills, confidence and experience to take their next steps into the industry.

Join us in wishing Aardman a very Happy 50th Birthday today!

Outstanding films. Award-winning work.

From RTS and Eat My Shorts awards to an Encounters Film Festival Official Selection - our students are making films that get noticed.

Ready to make yours? Know someone who is?

There is still time to join us at Bristol Film School | Boomsatsuma.

Explore the work from THRESHOLDS.

Recently, 15–18-year-olds from across Bristol and beyond came together to make, experiment and develop their ideas across photography, film, visual art and design.

We’ve now brought their work together in a new online gallery – celebrating the ideas, energy and individual creative voices that made THRESHOLDS what it was.

Take a look at what they created: https://boomsatsuma-thresholds.carrd.co/

🎉Congratulations to our college students on getting their results today! It was a fun and lively morning at Portland Square.

We're incredibly proud to see everyone taking their next steps be that heading to university, starting work or an apprenticeship, or staying with us at Boomsatsuma to continue their creative journey at degree level. 🧡

We caught up with Euan, Georgia, Hannah and Luna to hear about their time at Boomsatsuma, the things they've loved and what they're doing next.
