New challenge announcement: I’m hiking the length of Hadrian’s Wall this summer and will be raising money for Variety so need your help.

I’ll be walking daily from the North Sea coast at Tynemouth to Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast, a distance of at least 90 miles over seven days. I set off on 24th July 2025 for the first day with a 15 mile hike. This will help the fundraising for Daz's Rock 4 Charity who support Variety, the Children's Charity. Variety help disabled and disadvantaged children in the UK.

I made it to the summit! Phew, it was tough. Incredible though.

After six days of trekking on summit night we started at 11:30pm and had seven hours trekking through the dark to reach Uhuru Peak at 5,985 metres (19,341 feet). Not helped by spraining my ankle in a slip on day three.

Thanks so much to everyone who had sponsored me. That means a lot of children will be able to enjoy a great day out through Variety.

All packed and ready for my flight to Tanzania tomorrow. Start my trek up Kilimanjaro on Thursday with the summit reached on the 15th. Lots of warm clothes packed especially as the temperatures at the top look chilly!! The summit looks beautiful though.
