I have been a drummer for over 25 years and
my professional career saw me touring the U.K. I also have a vast experience of sound engineering and promoting as well as recording. Having started with snare drum and percussion at school including playing with the Bristol School's Orchestra I later started playing the drum kit and taking my playing and lessons seriously. After a great deal of experience playing with local bands I met some very talented and experienced musicians with whom I set up a highly successful professional function band. This band toured extensively every year for 10 years both in the U.K. and abroad with their favourites being Holland, Germany and Portugal gaining an excellent reputation and attracting top level management. I mixed this with deps and recordings for a variety of artists covering many different styles. I started teaching drums privately after completing my first teaching qualification (I then quickly become a fully qualified teacher through studying in my free time). After building-up a successful private practice I taught in primary and secondary schools for Bristol City Council, Bath & North East Somerset and Wiltshire County Council. I have also taught in private schools and ran several series of highly popular band workshops in youth clubs in Bristol and Bath. I currently mix teaching drums with playing regularly with a variety of bands and teaching at Bath College.

New challenge announcement: I’m hiking the length of Hadrian’s Wall this summer and will be raising money for Variety so need your help.

I’ll be walking daily from the North Sea coast at Tynemouth to Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast, a distance of at least 90 miles over seven days. I set off on 24th July 2025 for the first day with a 15 mile hike. This will help the fundraising for Daz's Rock 4 Charity who support Variety, the Children's Charity. Variety help disabled and disadvantaged children in the UK.

I made it to the summit! Phew, it was tough. Incredible though.

After six days of trekking on summit night we started at 11:30pm and had seven hours trekking through the dark to reach Uhuru Peak at 5,985 metres (19,341 feet). Not helped by spraining my ankle in a slip on day three.

Thanks so much to everyone who had sponsored me. That means a lot of children will be able to enjoy a great day out through Variety.

All packed and ready for my flight to Tanzania tomorrow. Start my trek up Kilimanjaro on Thursday with the summit reached on the 15th. Lots of warm clothes packed especially as the temperatures at the top look chilly!! The summit looks beautiful though.
