A fantastic start

From this safe environment children are inspired with new experiences and opportunities that will help them to develop a love of learning. We offer term-time care and education for children aged 2 1/4 – 4 years. We offer a collect and drop off service to other nurseries for after hours c

Our last full week of preschool has been very busy!
We haven't taken many pictures, but we have been to the school hall a few times for lunch, we watched the school play on Tuesday, had the paddling pools out, lots more water play to keep us cool along with lots of ice pops!
Next week we have a presentation for the leavers on Tuesday and our last day is Wednesday.
Have a good weekend everyone.

We have had a lovely week at Blagdon Preschool.
We collected some different plants and flowers to use in our mud kitchen. We talked about how we saw plants at the farm last week and the insects loved them. We collected seeds, turning it in to 'horse food.'
We did some outside painting, watercolour painting, dug up our garlic and ended the week cooling off in the paddling pool with the hose pipe.
We had a lovely time at our leavers picnic on the cricket pitch, and we are very grateful to Blagdon Cricket club for allowing us to use their freezer so we were able to enjoy an ice lolly after getting very hot playing in the field!

This week at Blagdon preschool, we went on a trip to Nempnett pastures. George took us on a tractor ride, the children loved seeing the cows and calves running to their fresh pastures. Meg showed us lots of animals that live on their farm and talked about the farms important plants and insects. We got to stroke a chicken, lamb and a kitten! We had a lovely time, Thank you George and Meg for having us!
Also this week, we used the salad spinner to create some fab paintings, the children have shown an interest in making models with different materials, one child made a telescope, so we read the book 'Shark in the park' and we also enjoyed the Rainbow fish this week.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

This week we have used the flowers in our garden in our water tray and then to make potions, along with making 'sticky sticky mud'. We practiced the egg and spoon race, balancing a bean bag and running races. We made lovely big paintings, football colouring (one child tells us they have 3 lion PJ's) and finished the week with some seaside yoga with Nikkita!
Next week is meant to be a hot one, so remember the sun-cream and hats! See you then.
A reminder that Tuesday morning is the 'Going up day for Blagdon Primary School Children'

This week has been a very windy and rainy week at Blagdon preschool.
We have made good use of our all-in-ones and wellie boots to get outside as much as we can.
As Monday was ocean day, we have had some ocean/sea creature activities set up throughout the week where the children can explore, giving them an opportunity to talk and ask questions about the world around them.
The children made a minty playdough and with the help of the sand-timer, took turns to cook their creations it in the playdough oven.
We have been learning a new poem 'five little peas.'
One child set up a hairdressers, which as a hit with everyone!
This week Nikkita used the story 'Dear Zoo' for yoga, we followed along with lots of animal poses.
Have a fab weekend, see you next week

We have had a lovely start to term 6, although the weather has not be great!
The children asked to revisited lots of activities this week, the pizza game, diggers in the tuff tray and building obstacle courses. They also had a great time role playing in their boat (the wooden box with the brush holder as a mast). On Friday Nikkita came in to do yoga through storytelling with the children.
See you next week.

Other busy week here at Preschool.
The chocolate mud was a favourite, we repeated it throughout as the children asked for it. We planted sunflowers and played the shopping list game. The older children are beginning to grow their focus, attention and turn taking skills through these games, which are all signs of school readiness.
See you next week for our last week of term 5!
