We've been making coloured paper by transferring dye from wet tissue paper. Using water squirters to wet the paper is a great exercise for our developing hand muscles!

Celebrating some of the beautiful snail collages we've been making recently, inspired by Matisse's Magical Trail. We've been using this as an opportunity to explore making representational drawings and the children have loved seeing that that they are able to express their ideas on paper, that they can create meaning through marks they make.

Pic 1: before lunch; Pic 2: after lunch! The children were absolutely fascinated watching this snail (and other minibeast friends!) enjoying this strawberry this morning. We had lots of great conversations about whether we should let the animals eat the strawberry or whether it was OUR strawberry, so we should move it. They decided it was right that the animals should eat this one, but they wanted to pick all the other strawberries before the creatures get to them too.
