Nature Academy is a Bristol based Forest School. Operating from a number of sites. Nature Academy was founded by John Atkinson in 2016.
We are committed to providing top quality outdoor education and bespoke woodland parties. John is a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader as well as a fully qualified teacher with several years experience in mainstream and special schools. John is qualified in paediatric outdoor first aid. All staff at Nature Academy are fully trained and DBS checked.

Phew…. What an amazing weekend delivering forest school sessions to the fabulous and talented kids at Starry Skies Festival. We did lots of exploring, fire-lighting, den-building and campfire cooking. Thanks to my amazing crew for all the help. Roll on next year…!

Summer holiday clubs are filling up… I’ve got one space left for Tuesday 1st August, 2 spaces left for Wednesday 2nd August. All day bushcraft from 9:00-3:30. 8-12 year olds.

A lovely 5th Birthday Party for Ned on Saturday up at Nature Academy HQ. All the children worked hard to fit in lots of activities and had great fun. Ned’s face on the rope swing! Happiness is…

Just to let you know we won’t be running any holiday clubs in October Half term.
They will return next year and will share details nearer the time.

A wonderful series of summer forest school days comes to an end. What an amazing bunch of kids we’ve had through in the last few weeks. Will and I have had a great time teaching you all your forest skills! Thanks guys!

Amazing Easter Holiday Club with a top group of bushcrafting kids. Worst day, (weather-wise), of the holidays but it didn’t bother this little lot!

This will be at our HQ in Failand (BS8 3TF) for kids aged 6-12.
There will be lots of activities including making treehouses, bug hunting, tree identification, knife whittling, campfire cooking foraging and loads more!
