Plant Based Universities Bristol

⭐️Yesterday a couple of us were invited to an event run by source catering about new menu changes for catered halls. There was a large selection of nutritious foods and deserts- many of which were plant-based (and everyone was enjoying them!!). We were asked to come along and give our opinions.🌱

We saw:
5/9 ish mains were PB
2/5 deserts were PB
3/3 sides were PB

It was a great chance to continue some of the conversations we have been having with source catering regarding their plant-based food and how we can increase it/ make it more accessible.🥒

Thank you everyone for coming! It was so lovely to have students from PBU Bristol, PBU Cardiff, Bristol Young greens and Earth Justice Society to all come together and share plant-based food.

Bristol in person training 🌱

This week, the bristol team had an in person training with Orin and Jesse from the PBU UK core team. We spent the afternoon going over the core principles of PBU, non-violence, and transformative vs incremental change before heading into strategy.

We highlighted the main areas of focus, and looked at next steps following the success of our motion (all while eating some biscuits of course).

🌱Outreach at senate🙌

With the upcoming AMM vote on the 4th of Feb, we have been getting busy with outreach!🗳️

Last Wednesday we stood outside Senate and talked to students, encouraging them to attend the vote on the 4th at 5pm. We will be at the same place next Wednesday afternoon, so come and say hi to find out more!💚

‼️Did you know that our petition has reached over 100 signatures? ✍️

Since creating the petition in September this academic year, we have done outreach twice and managed to get over 100 signatures. Let’s reach 200 by easter!🌱

Petitions are one of the best ways that we can show student support other than through SU motions. Speaking of, we have just submitted a plant-based motion for the upcoming AMM!🗳️ Make sure you come and vote on the 4th of Feb.🙌

🌱Bristol, Bath and UWE all met up last Thursday for our first joint social! 🍻

We met at kings street and spent the evening getting to know each other while having a couple of drinks 🍷.It was lovely to spend time with fellow local campaigners and to find out what is going on at the other PBU campaigns in the south west!💚
