Student today in school didn't correctly read a poetry assessment question, said he gave a very good answer... just the wrong one, oh dear. Nice teacher allowing him to re-write answer, poor chap.

First week back last week, all students were very happy to see me... hmm. Couple of GCSE students made even happier, finding out they have a mock GCSE literature exam in February, we will have to look closely at this. The heat is on lol.🤓

2 hour lesson yesterday with a student, they have been playing solitaire for about 3 months... I mentioned to them if any time left I would play a game... well they held me to that, so played a game... they looked at me and said, "You done it!"
I replied "Yes", cleared the board in front of them... Don't you just love it when a plan comes together. Lol😂

Most student's MOCK results in, all students scoring above predicted grades, one 3 marks off grade 7 (an A)... Well done, you all work hard, just waiting on 1 more... Grrr😉

Fantastic news tonight, year 11 student today got back their English language GCSE mock exam results... 3 marks off of a grade 6. At the beginning of year 10 estimated a result of minus 2, they have worked very hard with me over the past 14 months... welllll done you😁

Good week so far... after finishing their mocks last week, 2 students felt embarrassed by their teachers, told one he could see he had been "tutored" in answering the questions, the other was told he could see he had been "drilled" in answering questions, this was announced in-front of class. Excellent to see them using their learnt skills. Well done.😁

It's been a busy few weeks... 5 GCSE students taking mock exams with 3 different exam boards, good job I love a challenge.

Nice day today, Started a young student who needs support with reading. Carried out assessment, will start with phonics and blending. GCSE student, looked at the effect of writer’s techniques, need a little more practice in this area.🙂

Great day yesterday, KS3 student looking at implicate and explicit information, did well but need to stay in this area until secure. GCSE student concentrating on writer’s techniques and developing answers. Did very well also vocabulary improving. Well-done guys.😁

Monday enrolled a final year GCSE student, first lesson Thursday, looking forward to it.🙂
