Researchers from the Faculty of Engineering, Dan Kumpik and Weisong Yang, will be speaking at Together 4 Dementia conference, on Tuesday 1st November. They will be sharing their expertise and work on the CUBOiD research project at the University of Bristol.

Learn how the CUBOiD project tracks daily activities such as sleep, walking and talking in the home, and how measuring behavioural changes over time may show signs of mild cognitive impairment or early Alzheimer’s disease.

Weisong will lead the talk 'Detecting and monitoring behavioural patterns, in individuals with cognitive disorders, in home environments.’ Dan will join the afternoon panel to answer questions.

Tickets are £10 to attend online and £20 to attend in person at the Bristol Hotel in central Bristol.

CDT students Lauren and Sydney ran an exciting "Smartwatch your Health" session at the School Research Fair last week, encouraging children to think about sharing smartwatch data and give their views on different types of smartwatches.

Sydney says: "One of the kids chose our stall out as one that made them go ‘wow’ which was pretty cool considering our competition!"

OPERAnet, a multimodal activity recognition dataset acquired from radio frequency and vision-based sensors - an OPERA project publication in Nature Scientific Data.

This paper presents a comprehensive dataset intended to evaluate passive Human Activity Recognition (HAR) and localization techniques with measurements obtained from synchronized Radio-Frequency (RF) devices and vision-based sensors.
