"Music in Movement" workshop is free and open to all levels!

Led by me and Chloe Mantripp

“Music in Movement” is a music and movement workshop.
It’s free and open to all levels of artistic expression (music and physical movement).
The workshop aims to stimulate a shared creative process through games and technique, offering the participants a safe space and the freedom to express themselves creatively.
Working together we will discover shared content and by the end of the session aim to co-create a rough piece of material which fuses music and movement. Devising using the tools learnt in the workshop aims to sow seeds for the participants to continue to play with these ideas and take them into their everyday lives.
It doesn’t require any instrument.
Led by:
Luca Macchi is a musician, songwriter, producer and singing teacher based in Bristol.
He researches, creates, plays and produces music embracing both his Italian origins and his UK experiences.
He combines piano, guitar, OP-Z and vocals, creating soulful melodies and harmonies framed by electronic beats and synth.
He is also a composer for documentaries and events, plays music and performs with dancers and circus artists.
His performances are for local communities, promoting:
- Connections between cultures through the shared language of music
- Creativity
- Accessible shows and performances

Chloe Mantripp is a physical theatre and movement practitioner. She works across disciplines creating and devising socio-political work that challenges stereotypes and aims to invite conversations, social change and access to the arts.
Chloe’s heart is in community, a strong believer that there should be ‘no work about us, without us’, co-creation is key to her practice. She's also small. And mouthy.

Singing lessons and vocal coaching for beginners, intermediate and advanced.
If you need to prepare an audition, to increase your vocal performance, to explore your voice; or beacuse you're experiencing vocal fatigue or soreness.

I'm Luca a singing teacher with 15 years of experience.
I have a Diploma in jazz singing obtained at the prestigious "Scuola Civica di Jazz"; in Milan and a Diploma in MLT by Edwing Gordon to teach music to children 0 to 5 years old.
I can teach vocal technique and interpretation (jazz, pop, rock).
My teaching is based on natural breathing, functional voice training and vocal Ki by Laura Conti.
I teach online on zoom and in person in Bristol (St Werburghs).

Unheimlich means "Uncanny" and it refers to the concept of the psychological experience of something as not simply mysterious, but creepy, often in a strangely familiar way.

I'm immensely happy to announce that I've been awarded with the Fusion Fund by Help Musicians
I've received their support throughout the pandemic with the hardship fund and I was grateful for that.
I'm even gratful more now since this grant will allow me to explore and open up a music and performing path that I want to pursue strongly.

We are delighted to finally announce new music from Valley of the moon

Since before lockdown they have been crafting an album full of mystical musings. ‘Hello darkness’ is our first glimpse into Valley of the moon’s brave new world of glitchy, hazy, apocalyptic folktronica

Featuring Luca Macchi, Hello darkness has a beautifully warm, melancholic restraint, which cumulates in a crescendo of spoken poetry (in Italian, of course) and a cacophony of mournful trumpets

The song is accompanied by a gorgeous animation and lyric video created by Gabriela Bran
