Year 1 loved sharing their model of our school grounds with their grown ups this week as part of our fieldwork fortnight! 🏫 All the children showed incredible collaboration, resilience and creativity and with the help of Miss Long and some very helpful year 6's it all came together. 😀👍

Reception had a very exciting morning! We walked to our local library to meet the Author Robert Starling, he read his books ‘Fergal is fuming’ and ‘Fergal meets Fern’
He then gave us a masterclass on picture book illustrations and we got to draw our own illustrations! 📚✍️

What a wonderful day 2G have had at Tyntesfield exploring the woods, gardens and play areas. There was such a huge variety of trees and plants and one tree was so huge we were all able to hold hands around it!

Yellow class very much enjoyed showing off our bug habitats today! 🐞🐜🐛
We worked incredibly hard on them last week, starting with a bug hunt to discover the different insects living around us. We then researched the bugs we found, created our own bugs using loose parts and playdough, and thought carefully about the kind of home each bug would like and need to thrive.

In 2J we have been doing some great work based on our book the Secret Sky Garden. We wrote invitations in English inviting people to visit the garden.

In 2G we have enjoyed finding out about our local area and using our geography skills. First, we planned our route using a real map. On our walk we gathered information on tally charts and made bar charts. We drew our own maps including a key with symbols and thought about what we liked and what we would change to make it even better. We all agreed that we are lucky to live in an area with lovely green spaces and places to play.

2G are really enjoying our book for the term 'The Secret Sky Garden'. We have planted our own seeds and are excited to see that they have germinated already. We have written some fabulous descriptions of the the before and after garden.
