THANK YOU to the whole film department for a great year! in 2022-23 we rebranded and relaunched FDS, putting on loads of events, socials, formals and an end of year festival ; it was a fantastic year and we couldn’t have done it without the members of FDS and the students who supported us! unfortunately FDS is currently not continuing in 2023-24, however if you are interested in reaffiliating then please contact the SU in September
MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to all the final years who graduated yesterday! although the end of uni might not have gone according to plan, it was a great send off and celebration of the friendships and connections we have all made; good luck to everyone getting into the film industry (you will need it)

tickets are live for the FDS Film Festival end of year celebration at Watershed in our bio! We will be giving out awards for the films with the most public votes for each category; there is food and drink available at the ceremony
it will be a great celebration to end the academic year! please dress formally and arrive on time for 5:30PM
there is also an afterparty at the Lost & Found on Queens Rd from 8PM
if you haven’t already submitted please submit your films for screening & nominations by this WEDNESDAY
screenings will occur prior to the ceremony at the beginning of next week x

Andrei Tarkovsky’s seminal Soviet masterpiece IVAN’S CHILDHOOD is our screening next Wednesday 19 April at 5PM in 5.90
the screening is open to all so come and enjoy the show!

there’s also an unawarded OUT OF COMPETITION category in FDS Film Festival
any film can be submitted and will not be up for any awards but will be screened as a part of our showcase to a large audience
