This week in Reception we have been on our first school trip! π
We had a wonderful time at Old Down Country Park .
We saw lots of animals, including Kevin the Peacock, pigs, pygmy goats, alpacas, geese, guinea pigs and donkeys. π¦
We planted some seeds and had lots of fun at the adventure playground.
Luckily we mostly avoided the rain βοΈ although lots of us found the puddles by the bouncy pillow!
Thank you to the grown ups who helped us with our trip, we couldnβt do it without you!

Year 4 have been stepping back in time as they begin their exciting journey into Ancient Egypt! πΊπ
The children explored a range of ancient Egyptian artefacts, carefully examining clues and asking thoughtful questions to help them build an understanding of this fascinating historical era. Through hands-on investigation, they developed their curiosity and historical enquiry skills while discovering what life may have been like thousands of years ago.
We canβt wait to uncover more mysteries of Ancient Egypt over the coming weeks! β¨

Just before half term, Reception had an exciting couple of weeks with five little visitors. We had seven duck eggs and an incubator delivered to class. The very next day, four ducklings greeted us when we came into school! The fifth duckling hatched two days later. For the next week, we were fabulous scientists, observing them closely, learning how to clean them out, give them food and water and give them a little cuddle too. π₯°
We sketched pictures of the ducklings and wrote about how to care for them. What a fabulous experience!

πAs Geographers, year 2 took a trip to Madagascar! We had to use our passports and boarding passes to go through security to board our flight. We then arrived and used maps to help locate where Madagascar is. We had a great time π

Year 3 have been learning the French names for colours and practising counting to six. To reinforce their learning, they enjoyed playing a fun board game that encouraged them to use their new vocabulary in an interactive and engaging way. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practised speaking French with their classmates! π«π·π²
