A few words from Ben
Hey, I’m Ben and somehow, I have managed to become the Business Team lead for UWE AI.  

To get a general picture about me my “friends” have said I can be fully summarised by one phrase “A camp David Tennant”

Outside of UWEAI my day job is a PhD student in assistive robotics looking at hand exoskeletons and how we can harmonise between the device and the user to lead to better support and encourage user acceptance.

Although this should take up most of my time, I can always be found tinkering with my countless usually pointless side projects including but not limited to: a robot dog to bring me tools, a steampunk inspired lightsabre, A portal turret to protect my desk and a full keyboard input reduced down to one key.

Outside of robotics I enjoy restoring old furniture and tools, making the world’s least symmetrical pottery (mostly by accident), and playing some dice-based roll playing games with friends.

We’re thrilled to share that UWE-AI has won £1000 worth of parts from RS Grass Roots! 🙌

This support means the world to us. With these parts, we’re gearing up to take our projects to new heights, enhance our competitive edge, and provide even better learning experiences for our members as we prepare for the upcoming competition.

Huge thanks to the incredible UWE-AI team for their hard work and dedication. Let’s keep pushing ourselves and working hard in preparation for the big day. Together, we’ll make our mark and represent our society proudly!
